After their bad loss to the Heat yesterday, the Knicks have to shake it off quickly, as they head into Cleveland tonight to play the Cavs. How should we look at this game from a NBA betting standpoint?

The NBA Odds favor the Knicks by -2 ½, with a total of 201 ½ points. Will the Knicks be able to rebound after they blew it against Miami yesterday, or will the Cavs continue the Knicks’ misery?

After being up 14 points at the half, the Knicks only mustered 34 2nd half points against Miami yesterday afternoon, and they basically gave up. They were playing good defense for the first part of the game, but then the Heat turned it up.

Tonight against the Cavs, the Knicks won’t have an easy road. They are coming off a back to back, and Cleveland has been no pushover this season in Cleveland. The Cavs however are dealing with some injured right now that could affect this game more than anything.

Kyrie Irving returned to practice for the Cavs on Sunday, and as long as there are no setbacks, he will be set to play this evening. However, nothing is set in stone as of yet. Whether he plays or not I’m siding with a nice total this evening.

Earlier in the season these two played to a 103-102 game in New York, and I see this game going similarly. The Knicks only played good defense yesterday because they were playing the Heat, and I expect the sloppy defense from the 2nd half of yesterday’s game to spill over into this one. Cleveland is a very good scoring team when they play at home, averaging almost 99 points per game.

I think a play on the total is on order for our NBA picks tonight. I see both squads in the 100s this evening, as eight of the last 11 times these two have played in Cleveland, the total has gone over. Also, both of these teams have been cashing the over recently, as four of their last six games have gone over as well.

My Pick: OVER 201 ½ at BetOnline
