The NBA Odds were a little late coming out this morning, however the Kings are -1 favorites on the road in this one, with a total of 201 points. Sacramento just got back their best player, so will they carry the momentum into another win tonight?
Cousins carries Kings
DeMarcus Cousins has played in two games since coming back from his ankle sprain, and the Kings have won both games somewhat easily both SU and ATS. At -1, the Kings are seemingly once again undervalued at sportsbooks, and Cousins just coming back could be a big reason why. Although the Celtics are a solid home defensive unit, they have no one to matchup down low with Cousins for this game. Jared Sullinger has been having an outstanding season playing the center position, but even though he has been very good, he is playing out of position. As big as Sullinger is, he is still likely giving up 20 pounds and three inches to Cousins.
As long as he keeps his head on and doesn’t get into foul trouble, the Kings should roll in this game. The only way Brad Stevens’ club is going to slow down Cousins is to double team him, and that will leave some wide-open shooters on the wing. Cousins has developed pretty nice passing skills for a big man this season, and even though his turnover rate is still much too high, his ability to pass out of the double team against the smaller Celtics will be crucial for a Kings win tonight.
The Sharp Pick
Sacramento has been slightly undervalued on the road all season, and at 12-9-1 ATS this season when playing away from home, I see Sac town being undervalued once again tonight. While Sacramento has only been a road favorite once this season, they won their only game as a road favorite, and I see them being the NBA pick here making it 2-0 ATS tonight. The C’s are only 4-7-1 ATS playing as home underdogs this season, and I doubt even their solid home defense will save them against the fast-paced Kings.
In their last ten games, the Celtics have not played well, especially at home. Boston is only 3-7 SU and 4-6 ATS during their last ten games, however at home during that stretch has been even worse. Five of their last ten games have been at home, and the Celtics are 1-4 SU and ATS in those five home games. Even though the Kings give up about 106 points per game on the road this season, I doubt Boston can get very far past 100 points, let alone 106. While I doubt the Kings go off either, the first team that gets to 100 points is likely going to win this game, and with their prized big man back in the starting lineup, I see it being the Kings.
My Pick: Kings -1 ½
