Toronto just fended off Indiana in 7 games, but showed their playoff inexperience, despite the contest being played at home. What will happen next in this series against Heat?

What Happened Yesterday
Last night, I was embarrassed with my NBA selection on the Atlanta Hawks. They lost by 25 points to a Cleveland team, who has now defeated them 9 straight times in the regular season and 10 straight times in the playoffs. Not that the Atlanta Hawks played poorly, as they connected on 11 of 27 (3) pointers (41%), made 27 of 30 foul shots and were only (-3) in rebound margin. But when Cleveland set an all-time record by making 25 of 45 (3) point shots, including 18 in the 1st half, there was no hope for the downtrodden Hawks! We shall see if anyone is brave enough to play them at home in Game 3.

Miami Heat vs. Toronto Raptors
Tonight’s NBA Playoff action is Game 2 of the Round 2 2016 NBA Playoff series between the Miami Heat and the Toronto Raptors. Toronto made their mark this season with all-star guards, Lowry and DeRozan, averaging over 45 PPG, while controlling the flow of many contests. But, they were badly outplayed by Miami’s veteran guard tandem of Wade and Dragic in Game 1. True enough, Lowry did hit a half-court 3 pointer to send the game to OT. Yet, the Heat prevailed (102-96).

Lowry was held to 7 points on 3 of 13 shooting, while DeRozan scored 22, but was just 9 for 22 from the floor. In the NBA Playoffs, Lowry is now shooting 31% and DeRozan 33%. Rather, it was Dragic and Wade who stepped up big for Miami. Following his outstanding Game 7 vs. Charlotte, Dragic scored 26 points in Game 1 and combined with Wade, who also made some huge defensive plays, for 50 total points.

Conclusions
NBA Playoff theory is clear that Toronto will “zig-zag” their way to pointspread victory tonight. Game 2 home teams, following an embarrassing home loss in the initial game of the series, are the ODDS ON favorite to bounce back. I will follow that line of thinking for a Game 2 play on the Raptors tonight with the idea that the prideful Lowry and DeRozan will have huge games against a Miami backcourt of Dragic and Wade, who must surely be sated by their Game 1 performance and 3 consecutive playoff victories. I invite you to put the NBA odds in your favor and join me in my NBA pick on the Toronto Raptors tonight.
