The Miami Heat wrap up their brief two-game road trip at Toronto on Sunday evening looking to have better marksmanship. The Toronto Raptors have a second straight home game after being on the road four times prior to Thanksgiving.

The Heat failed to reach 98 points in three contests and failed to connect on at least 41 percent or better of their shot attempts. They finally broke the triple-digit barrier and won at Chicago 103-96, but still only make 42.6 percent of their shot attempts.

Heat Blast

Before Friday night's game at Chicago, Miami coach Erik Spoelstra said this about his team's recent shooting woes. "Our last practice (Wednesday) was all about solutions and trying to get better," Spoelstra said after watching game tape. "Nobody's happy about how this thing has been going. Enough about that. We just have to continue to get better."

Even after winning against the Bulls, Miami is just 4-9 SU and ATS in their most recent contests and besides shooting woes, the Heat are not protecting the ball, ranked 26th in turnovers committed at nearly 16 a game.

Defensively, Spoelstra squad does good work, ranked eighth in defensive efficiency and field goal percentage defense. Where Miami could stand to do a better job on this end of the floor is guarding the arc. Toronto is a below average three-point shooting team (23rd) based on percentage, but they are nearly in the Top 10 in made 3's at over 11 a game and the Heat are 26th in three-point defense, which could them dearly in this matchup.

Raptor Rousing

Toronto has gotten off to the best in the NBA and at the same time has protected it most valuable asset Kawhi Leonard, not playing him in back to back games or if he's experiencing any game day soreness. However, when Leonard is a go to play, he's at career-high in minutes at almost 33.5 per contest and leads the Raptors in scoring.

While this is all good news, Toronto fans are used to regular season success and its come to be expected. Sportsbooks have been aggressive with the Raptors in making NBA odds. Toronto has been a favorite of seven or more points in eight of their last nine games and while who they have played has been a reason why oddsmakers are getting the results they want the purple dinosaurs just 5-4 ATS.

The Outcome

While it makes all the sense in the world to take Toronto for NBA picks, this encounter will see the Raptors as double-digit favorites if Leonard plays. With a game at Memphis Tuesday and Golden State Thursday, it's hard to imagine Toronto bringing their best and they are only 5-5 ATS (8-2 SU) at home winning by 9.4 PPG.

While Miami is only 2-9-1 ATS off a spread win, they are 20-8 ATS on the road against opponents winning more than 60 percent of their home games.

Expect Toronto to win and come up just short against the spread.

Prediction: Raptors 113, Heat 103
