The Miami Heat Can
LeBron James will play the whole game. The Heat were in control of Game 1 late into fourth quarter even though the Spurs had a significant home-court advantage. The air conditioning broke and the Heat simply cramped up – including James, who was unable to finish the game. Obviously, if you take the best closer off of any team, they’ll have a tough time sealing the deal and that’s what happened to the Heat.
James has faced a lot of criticism in the past couple of days. Look for him to use that as fuel to carry his team in Game 2. This series will head back to Miami tied.
The San Antonio
Spurs Can Win Because…
They’re on a mission. As evidenced in Game 1, nothing is going to stop this team from winning a title. The Heat got quality efforts from LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis, and still ended up getting run off the court. The Spurs have more depth and more balance, and that proved to be the difference in Game 1.
San Antonio will have different players step up throughout this series. In Game 1 it was Tiago Splitter and Danny Green. In Game 2, there’s a whole host of others that can do the trick. That’s the difference between these teams: the Spurs run 10-deep and Miami won’t be able to keep up – at least not on the road.
Outlook & Pick
The Spurs are really focused right now but more importantly, they’re at home. James will be able to finish the game this time around but it still won’t matter. Look for the Spurs to protect their home-court advantage and head back to Miami with a 2-0 series lead.
