Coming off their 19th straight win last night against the Hawks, the Heat go for number 20 tonight, as they travel into the City of brotherly love to play the Sixers. How should we approach this game from a NBA betting standpoint?

The NBA odds for this one favor Miami at -8 ½, but I’m more focused on the total, which sits at 194 points.

The last three times these two have played one another overall, the total has gone over. That includes two meetings from this season. Miami won both games, as they have won their last seven meetings against the Sixers. This season, Miami has dropped well over 100 points against the Sixers in their two meetings this season.

On top of that, five out these two’s last seven meetings have gone over the total. As Miami is coming off a back-to-back last night in Atlanta, I think they will be a bit tired in this game, and I think that might affect their defense. Plus, the Philly offense has been showing some life as of late, so I think that the NBA odds makers have set the bar a bit low, making the over is the only way to go go.

Five of the last six Philadelphia home games have gone over the total, and four of their last five games overall have gone over the total. NBA bettors should also note that the Sixers are 22-12 this season cashing the over at home.

The Sixers’ scoring woes seem to be a bit less obvious when they play in Philadelphia, and that is why I think 194 is just a bit too low. With Miami on the tilt game tonight, the Sixers will want to play their assess off in order to try and prevent the Heat from getting that 20th win in a row. Either way, I think we will see a high scoring game tonight, at least high enought to see our NBA picks cash with the Over.

My NBA Pick: OVER 194
