With both teams going through some growing pains so to speak, which club will most likely cover for bettors tonight, and where should we look for the best value for our NBA picks?
Atlanta was starting to threaten the Knicks and Heat for the top spot in the Eastern Conference before the New Year, but 2013 has not been kind to the Hawks. Atlanta has lost five of their last six games. What makes it worse is that of those five losses, three of them were at the hands of the Pistons, Cavs and Wizards respectfully.
Also, four of their last five losses have been on the road, which is where they go to play Chicago. The Bulls on the other hand have been pretty bad at home themselves this season. After being almost unbeatable there in seasons past, the Bulls are only 10-10 SU and an awful 4-16 ATS at home this season.
In tonight's matchup, I’m still siding with the Bulls. Chicago may be bad at home, but they also match up really well against the Hawks’ frontline. If Chicago can stop the likes of Devin Harris, Jeff Teague and Lou Williams tonight, they will get the win.
I’m not sure if they’ll slow down Lou, but Chicago’s problems have been playing down to their competition this season. They beat the Knicks and Heat, and then on the next night lose to the Bobcats and Suns at home. Against Atlanta tonight, the Bulls will be mad and focused after their awful home loss to the Suns, and to play a struggling Hawks team that they have beaten before without Derrick Rose.
