Hawks and Grizzlies on Friday Night
The Memphis Grizzlies and Atlanta Hawks will square off on Friday. The opening tip at the FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tennessee is slated for 8:05 PM ET. Current NBA betting odds at Just has Memphis as a 3.0 point favorite, and the total is 206.5. These teams split the two games against each other last season, and the home team won on each occasion. Both of those contests easily went under the total by a combined 29.5 points.

Hawks In a Bit of a Funk
Atlanta began this season by going 7-1 in their first eight games, and covered in six of those contests. However, since that time, they’ve gone a substandard 3-6, and that includes 0-4 SU&ATS (-7.7 PPG) in their previous four away games. That’s a stark contrast from going 4-0 SU&ATS (-6.3 PPG) in their first four road contests.

Grizzlies Finding Their Stride
As opposed to tonight’s opponent (Atlanta), Memphis got off to a terrible 3-6 start. Since that time, they’ve won six of their last seven games. Memphis has won four straight home games, and covered each of their last three at the FedEx Forum. The Grizzlies have been able to dictate tempo in each of the previous four games, and that’s encouraging, since that wasn’t the case for much of their first twelve contests. During this recent stretch, they’ve held opponents to an average of 91.3 points per game, and limited them to a considerably low 73.5 field goal attempts per contest. Memphis has gone an extremely profitable 18-6 ATS (75%) during the past two seasons when installed as a home favorite of 6.0 or less.

Final Analysis
At the moment, these are two teams headed in opposite directions. Memphis is clearly playing much better basketball than Atlanta in recent weeks. The Grizzlies have also faced a substantially stronger strength of schedule thus far in comparison to Atlanta. I’m going with the home side for one of my NBA picks on Friday.

Free NBA Pick: Memphis -3.0 at JustBet

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":2882691, "sportsbooksIds":[1096,19,93,92,238,349], "LineTypeId":1, "PeriodTypeId":1}[/]
