The Celtics fly into DC after a convincing win over the 76'ers last night, while the Wizards have had several days to rest. Let's review the NBA odds and choose an NBA pick.

Boston Celtics (24-21 SU, 24-20-1 ATS)
After defeating the Bulls at home, the Celtics took to the highway and crushed the woeful 76'ers by the score of 112-92. It was a good night for the Green and a financially rewarding one for all those who backed them in their NBA picks as 7½ point road favorites. Boston took an early lead and never looked back cruising to a 15 point lead at the half. Jae Crowder and Isaiah Thomas both had 20 points while Avery Bradley chipped in with 19 of his own. Marcus Smart found his range from beyond the arc connecting on 3-of-6 three-pointers. Smart had misfired on his last seven treys entering last night's game and has been struggling all season long from downtown hitting only 19.5 percent of his shots from long range.

The Celts outrebounded the Sixers 51-47 with Amir Johnson, Jared Sullinger and Jonas Jerebko combining for 33 boards. But rebounding has been something the Celtics have been doing well throughout the season averaging 45 boards per game which ranks them 9th in the league. Boston has been scoring at a rate of 104 PPG which places them 7th in the NBA while their defense ranks 12th allowing an average of 100.6 per contest.

Washington Wizards (20-21 SU, 22-19 ATS)
The Wizards have had plenty of time to reflect on their 106-87 victory over Miami on Wednesday of last week. Washington was supposed to take on the Jazz on Saturday but that game was canceled due to the blizzard conditions hammering the nation's capital. The NBA odds boards had the Wizards as 6-point home chalk and they didn't disappoint, putting the pedal to the metal on the injury ravaged Heat and outscoring them in all four quarters. Washington had six players in double digits with John Wall and Bradley Beal leading the charge with 18 apiece.

The Wizards are starting to get healthy and Otto Porter could return to the lineup after missing his last four games with a hip injury while Drew Gooden may join him after also being sidelined for four games with a calf injury. Washington ranks 10th in scoring (102.2 PPG), 24th in points allowed (103.8 PPG) and dead last in rebounding averaging only 40.1 per contest. Point guard John Wall has double digit assists in three consecutive games and leads the team in that department averaging 9.7 helpers per game while the team ranks 6th in that category with 24 per contest.

Betting Analysis
This is the fourth and final meeting between these two Eastern Conference rivals and the Celtics have owned the Wizards, winning all three previous games and covering the all-important number in each. The big question here is whether this layoff that the Wizards have had will help or hurt them? It is extraordinary to get five days rest between games in the middle of the season but that may be a good thing for a team that has had their share of injuries like Washington. Bradley Beal for one can always use the time to recover as the oft-injured guard has had his minutes managed by the team in order to sustain him over the long haul.

This is an evenly matched game with the Celtics having had their way against the Wizards this season but Washington now getting stronger and healthier. I believe the protracted break from the grind of the NBA schedule will help the Wizards in this one and a little research shows they are 3-0 straight up and ATS when getting three or more days rest. Boston narrowly edged Washington in their last meeting on January 16th 119-117 in DC, but this one will have a different outcome. The Wizards understand a series sweep is on the offing and will make sure to avoid it.
