NBA Pick: Bulls -3½
Best Line Offered: at Bet365

Memphis Grizzlies (14-12 SU, 11-14-1 ATS)
The NBA odds makers installed the Grizzlies as three-point home favorites in their last outing Monday night against the visiting Washington Wizards. Those who had the foresight to see that Memphis would break out of their recent two-game mini slump were rewarded in their NBA picks as Memphis throttled the Wizards 112-95. Marc Gasol led the way with 24 points and 12 boards while Mike Conley chipped in 18 points of his own to go along with 11 assists. The Grizzlies employed their sharpshooters from three-point-land to fire away and drilled 10 of 15 treys. Matt Barnes was the sniper-in-chief hitting 4-of-5 from downtown and ended the night with 20 points of his own.

Coach Dave Joerger has tinkered with the lineup over the past two games pulling veterans Tony Allen and Zach Randolph from the stating five. In their previous game in Miami the Grizzlies played the Heat tight but ultimately fell 100-97 as three-point road dogs. However, their outing against Washington proved to be much more convincing though it remains to be seen if Allen and Randolph’s bench status is temporary or permanent. Memphis desperately needs a shot in the arm offensively as they are averaging only 96.6 points per game which ranks them 26th in the league.

Chicago Bulls (14-8 SU, 8-14 ATS)
The Bulls have ripped off three consecutive wins and covered the number in two of those victories. Their last game against the lowly Philadelphia 76’ers went pretty much as planned with Chicago hammering the worst team in basketball by the score of 115-96 and covering the 13½ point impost. The game didn’t start out as planned with the Bulls trailing the Sixers by five at the half. However Chicago must have thought about whom they were playing and why they were losing and pressed the pedal to the floor with a dominating 34-12 third-quarter performance resulting in the blowout win.

The Bulls are not exactly lighting up the scoreboard averaging 98.9 points per game but their defense has been better than good. Chicago is ranked 6th defensively allowing only 97.5 points per game which is a direct correlation to their intensity on the glass as the top ranked team in the NBA with almost 49 boards per game. Shooting guard Jimmy Butler is leading the team in scoring with 20.7 points per game while former MVP Derrick Rose is averaging 5.5 assists per game. Pau Gasol heads the glass attack with 10.6 rebounds per contest.

Betting Analysis
These clubs have yet to meet this season but when last they tangoed it was the Grizzlies that dribbled away with a 101-91 victory at the United Center. Yet on that occasion in March of last season Memphis was a 5½ point road favorite however this season the oddsmakers are installing them as 3½ point underdogs. We are going to buck a betting trend here that has seen the Memphis Grizzlies dominating the Bulls as the team has gone 5-1 against the spread over their last six in ChiTown.

The difference this season is that we have one team so purely dominant on the glass (Chicago) against another that is among the league’s least effective team in rebounding. The Bulls are also amongst the elite defensively while the Grizzlies are middling at best. Finally, Memphis is going with a smaller lineup, with Allen and Randolph no longer starters, and that will allow the Bulls to outmuscle even further their opponents tonight. All signs are pointing to a convincing Chicago win, add them as your NBA pick.
