Three matchups highlight our NBA picks selections for this Friday evening, including one matchup from the Eastern Conference and two more from the West. Find out below, which teams we expect to beat the NBA odds tonight.
Toronto Raptors at Philadelphia 76ers
NBA Odds: 76ers -4, Over/Under 190
Tip off: 7:05 PM EST
The Raptors have lost three games overall and they might have a tough time of it once again tonight, as they have failed to cover the point spread in four straight games played on the road against a team with a winning home record. However, they do feature a decent offense that scores an average of 97 points per game compared to Philadelphia’s low average of few than 93 per contest (92.8).
Philadelphia, however, is 7-3 ATS in their last ten matchups played on a Friday. But that’s as good as it get for them, as they are 1-6 against the spread in their last seven games overall; and against Toronto, they have covered the point spread just six times in their last 26 meetings when the game is being played in the city of brotherly love.
Philadelphia is just one game above .500 when playing at home this season, but Toronto has only accumulated four wins in 20 road games this year. I expect Philadelphia to get the job gone tonight on their home floor and come away with the straight up win and point spread cover.
Golden State Warriors at San Antonio Spurs
NBA Odds: Spurs -12, Over/Under 202 1/2
Tip off: 8:35 PM EST
The Warriors are good for at least 100 points per game, while you can count on the Spurs dropping in nearly 105 per night. In fact, Golden State has gone over the posted total in four of their last five games played on the road and eight of ten versus Western Conference opponents.
Meanwhile, San Antonio has gone over the posted total in five of their last six games versus teams with a straight up winning record.
In head to head action, three of the last five meeting have gone over the posted total as well as 8 of 11 when the game is being played in San Antonio.
Neither team features a defense that will shout down each other offense and we know both teams can score. This is the perfect formula for the game to eclipse the total.
Over 202 ½
Oklahoma City Thunder at Dallas Mavericks
NBA Odds: Thunder -4, Over/Under 205 1/2
Tip off: 9:35 PM EST
OKC has been great all season, with 31 straight up wins and just 8 losses. As a favorite this season they are impressive 23-12-2 against the spread, including 10-5-2 on the road. They own the top offense in the NBA this season, averaging 105.4 points per game. Defensively, they aren’t too bad either, as their 96 points against average is 8th best in the NBA.
Dallas on the other hand hasn’t had nearly the same success this season. While they are currently on a four-game winning streak, they are still six games below .500, with 17 wins and 23 losses on the year. At home, against the spread, they own a modest 9-9 record. They feature a poor defense that gives up an average of 102.5 points per game, which ranks 27th in the league.
Find out why Jeff Grant is adding the Thunder to his NBA picks tonight.
A great offense in the Thunder is going up against an awful defense in the Mavericks tonight and the NBA odds seem to be cheap at only -4 points. I expect the Thunder to win this game by double digits, easily covering the point spread.
