Let's start off the weekend in style by beating the books with our NBA picks. We're analyzing five games closely for tonight and have odds previews for each matchup, along with our handicappers' favorite pick. Are you on the same side?

There's quite a bit of heavy chalk out there tonight, with the Bulls (-11.5 vs. Milwaukee), Nets (-10 vs. Detroit), Bobcats (-10 vs. Orlando), Warriors (-9.5 vs. Sacramento), Heat (-9.5 vs. Minnesota), Celtics (-9.5 vs. Philadelphia) and Grizzlies (-9 vs. Denver) all favored by large margins. Are you adding any of these favorites to your collection of NBA picks?

Denver Nuggets vs. Memphis Grizzlies
Covered by Jason Lake
The Nuggets have no shot at making the playoffs, but they can help spoil the party for the Grizzlies by getting a road win tonight. Denver isn't given much of a chance when it comes to the NBA odds, as they're getting nine points from oddsmakers.

It's a crucial game for a Memphis team that's fighting tooth and nail with Dallas and Phoenix for a spot in the playoffs. Jason, however, thinks there's good value on backing Denver in this situation.

Pick: Nuggets +9

Philadelphia 76ers vs. Boston Celtics
Covered by Jason Lake
Not the most exciting matchup here, that's for sure. The 76ers and Celtics are a combined 72 games under .500, with Boston coming in on the heels of six consecutive losses.

Both teams are essentially tanking in order to get a lottery pick in the loaded draft, which of course makes it difficult to discern where the best NBA betting value. A pick has to be made though and Jason believes we need to be taking those points with the underdog 76ers.

Pick: 76ers +10

Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Miami Heat
Covered by Matthew Jordan
After a few hiccups here and there, the Heat have responded by winning four straight games. They'll be favored by 9.5 points for this visit of the Timberwolves, who sit at 37-37 SU on the year, with Dwyane Wade (hamstring) considered doubtful to play.

There's no doubt the Heat are going to have their hands full with Kevin Love, but that isn't stopping Matthew from siding with the defending champs to take care of business. He looks for them to win by double digits and is also going to be on the UNDER with his sports picks.

Pick: Heat -9.5 and UNDER 204

Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Houston Rockets
Covered by Jordan Sharp
What a game this should be. One night after ending San Antonio's 19-game winning streak, the Thunder do battle with James Harden and the Rockets in Houston. Current NBA betting lines show Houston favored by 2.5 points.

Russell Westbrook is set to be rested on this back-to-back set, meaning Kevin Durant's going to have to do a lot of heavy lifting tonight. Dwight Howard (ankle) is still out for the Rockets. We'll have Jordan's pick up for viewing shortly.

Pick: Over 211

Dallas Mavericks vs. Los Angeles Lakers
Covered by Jordan Sharp
Dallas, as we mentioned, in very much in the playoff picture, so you know they're going to come out fired up in Los Angeles. The Lakers, who are 14-23 SU at home, will be hefty underdogs for tonight’s' battle.

You have to figure the Mavericks are the only team worth backing with your NBA picks in this spot. The Lakers show up with a great performance here and there, but they're far too risky to have any real faith in. Jordan is in the same boat and is taking Dallas to win and cover the eight points.

Pick: Mavericks -8
