Trail Blazers are down 2-0 to Clippers, but now they have a chance to play at home, where they have been extremely tough every season. However, NBA odds still have L.A. as a small road favorite.

For one of my NBA picks I will back the home Portland Trail Blazers in this spot because I believe they will pull off the minor upset. They simply are a different team at home.

Portland Trail Blazers
In game two Portland shot just 34% from the floor and only 19% from distance for one of the worst shooting games of the season. Now that they get a chance to come back home I completely don't expect those types of percentages as they have lit it up all season for the most part playing in Portland. The good thing is that they got the tempo and pace they wanted getting up 91 attempts with 26 of those coming from beyond the arc, the issue was that the ball was not dropping.

Playing at home Portland has some of the biggest disparities in the league compared when they go on the road. They go from averaging 102 points on the road to 108 at home, their shooting percentage from the floor goes up from 43.4% to over 46%, from 36% to 38% from beyond the arc, and their effective field-goal percentage goes up from 49% to 52.5% which is the biggest disparity out of all the Western Conference playoff teams including the Warriors and Spurs. Portland is simply a different monster in front of their home crowd and I expect them to shrug off that bad fourth-quarter they had last game and come out and win this ballgame.

Los Angeles Clippers
In game two Los Angeles shot 46% from the floor and 38% from distance while out rebounding Portland 63-57. They played a tremendous fourth-quarter which was the difference in coming out with the victory but I thought Portland did a nice job getting up and down the floor with them. It is never easy winning on the road and although the Trailblazers did not shoot particularly well there has to be some credit given to the defense done by the Clippers.

However, Los Angeles will have their hands full facing a Portland team that shoots exponentially better and a team that matched them well in the paint area in game two with 42 point put up by both teams. Los Angeles has been one of the better road teams this year and they split their two games in Portland during the regular season. If they want to continue with the tempo that they have been putting up I have a hard time thinking they will pull off a win tonight going up 3-0 in the series because Portland will be more than ready to play tonight.
