The Los Angeles Clippers and Golden State Warriors have engaged in two entertaining games. Now the series shifts over to Oracle Arena in Oakland with the Clippers listed as a small road favorite on the NBA odds.

The Los Angeles Clippers Can Win Because…
They’re the better team. In Game 1, Blake Griffin was limited to just 19 minutes of action because of foul trouble and the Clippers were still quite competitive. In Game 2, he played regular minutes and the Clippers ran the Warriors off the court. That’s how much of a difference there is between the teams. The Warriors simply have no answers in the frontcourt for Griffin and DeAndre Jordan.

The Warriors need Griffin to be limited and the Clippers bench to all have an off night as they did in Game 1. That’s not likely to happen on a consistent basis. Look for the Clippers to again get a strong effort from Griffin and company and to cash for your NBA picks.

The Golden State Warriors Can Win Because…
They’re at home. Any way you slice it, that’s a big factor. The Clippers were just 23-18 on the road this season compared to 34-7 at home. That’s a significant dip. As for the Warriors, they were 27-14 at home compared to 24-17 on the road. That’s a slight improvement. The crowd at Oracle Arena is going to be going wild on Thursday, that’s for sure.

Beyond that, the Warriors just need to get back on track in Game 3. That means avoiding the 26 turnovers that they had and playing slightly better defense (Clippers shot 56.6% from the field in Game 2). Being at home should give them the extra charge they need to be more effective.

Outlook & Pick
The Warriors need the Clippers to be in foul trouble – as they were in Game 1 – to win Game 3. It’s possible but it’s hard to place a bet banking on foul trouble. The Clippers are the better team but homecourt advantage is likely the equalizer here.

Instead of picking sides, I’ll take the over. These two teams don’t engage in much defense. I’ll expect another result with both teams in the 100’s and another over.
