Will the Nuggets’ octane stay high for another cover or can the Clippers get the money as dogs? Find out where are looking to place our NBA picks in this Western Conference matchup.

The Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Clippers have been two of the hottest squads at NBA betting windows, cashing with a combined 10-1-1 ATS mark over their last six games. Thursday’s league slate has the foes meeting at Pepsi Center, where Denver has put up 112.8 PPG in its last 13 home dates.

Nuggets, Lawson cash in “Sac-town”

Denver notched a sixth straight win with Tuesday’s 120-113 victory over the Sacramento Kings, collecting as a five-point road favorite. The Nuggets shot 54.1 percent from the floor, including an 8-for-16 mark from three-point land.

Nuggets guard Ty Lawson put up 24 points, while logging seven of his squad’s 30 assists. Denver’s Kenneth Faried picked up his third double-double in five contests, finishing with 19 points and a team-high 12 boards.

The battle’s combined 233 points soared above the ‘total’ of 224, lifting the OVER to 5-2 in the Nuggets’ last seven matchups. Nuggets center JaVale McGee recorded four blocks in 21 minutes of action off the bench, while Denver outscored Sacramento in the paint, 60-44.

Clippers, Griffin hold off Bucks

Los Angeles logged its ninth win over 11 games in Wednesday’s 117-101 triumph as 9 ½-point home ‘chalk’ against the Milwaukee Bucks. Clippers forward Blake Griffin shot 9-of-14 from the floor en route to a triple-double, including 23 points and 11 boards.

Los Angeles’ Chris Paul united with Griffin for 20 assists, while Jamal Crawford and Eric Bledsoe notched three steals and two blocks, respectively. The Clippers edged out Milwaukee in boards, 42-34, while both squads combined to drain 25-of-58 buckets beyond the arc.

The duel’s 218 points jumped past the ‘total’ of 205, moving the OVER to a 5-3 mark in the Clippers’ last eight games. Crawford led his squad’s scoring with 25 points off the bench, while Los Angeles sank 11-of-14 free throws.

Back the Nuggets as home ‘chalk’

NBA odds opened Denver as a 3 ½-point home favorite, while first listing the ‘total’ at 211 ½. Early wagers on the Nuggets and OVER drove the numbers north to four and 213, respectively.

I am adding Denver to my NBA picks here, agreeing with the early NBA betting ‘steam.’ The Nuggets have cashed at 7-1 ATS in their last eight home dates, while Los Angeles finds itself in a tough venue on no rest from Wednesday’s victory.

Denver’s Ty Lawson and Danilo Gallinari are among the Western Conference’s top 15 scorers (16.7 PPG each), while Lawson ranks in the top five for assists (7.1 APG). Lawson missed January’s 92-78 win for the Nuggets over Los Angeles and his hot hands should add more to the team’s octane this time around.

Los Angeles has been scorching its share of foes lately, but is just 2-5 ATS in its last seven spots against clubs with a .600 winning mark or better. Paul and Co. were held to 38.5 percent shooting in its trip to Denver, two months ago, trailing by as many as 18 points.

Look for the Clippers to come up short again here, while Denver pulls away to a cashed ticket a low premium.
