NBA Playoffs Series Odds: Grizzlies vs. Clippers
After going seven games just a season again, Randolph vs. Griffin II is set to take place on Saturday evening in LA. Last season these two put on a show and with the exception of no Rudy Gay and Tayshaun Prince instead this season, these two teams are still just as powerful as they were a year ago. Where should we go with our NBA Playoff Picks for this four versus five matchup out West?
I don’t expect there is any love lost between these two teams, and a first round playoff series against one another should be just as entertaining as the last. I remember around this time last season I was praising both as being the future of the West along with the Thunder. Although they both slipped some down the stretch, these are still two teams that can play at a championship level on occasion.
Although Marc Gasol is playing with a slightly torn abdominal muscle, the Grizzlies are still gearing up for a playoff run, and even though the Clippers got the best of them last season, don’t lock them into a win just yet. Although the Clipper should be favored, I’m not sure if it should be by too much. The Grizzlies are still one of the best defensive teams in the entire NBA, and they can stop a Clipper offense that is inconsistent, even if Chris Paul is playing well.
As if he wasn’t a key problem for the Grizzlies, Paul is the only player that can make up for LA’s weaknesses. Paul has a tough assignment. Mike Conley was third in the NBA this season right behind Paul for steals, and I consider the Memphis backcourt as the bets defensively in the NBA. As long as Paul stays true to his game and can lead the offense, I like the Clippers again in seven games. However it’s not sold by any means.
As of right now, LA is a -170 favorite to win this series, and Memphis comes in as a slight +150 underdog in the Series NBA Odds. Game 1 is Saturday night, and the Clippers are -5 favorites, with a total of 180 points.

The Sharp Pick
While I am certainly laying off on the series price, game to game and in prop bets are where you will find the most value for this series. It’s too close to call to warrant a bet on either team to win the first four games. I do however like the Grizzlies taking five points in the first game.
