The Los Angeles Clippers will end their eight-game Grammy road trip Monday night, as they take on the Philadelphia 76ers at the Wells Fargo Center in the City of Brotherly Love.

Let’s take a closer look at the NBA odds for this non-conference affair that tips off at 7:00 p.m. ET.

The music’s over

Los Angeles will try to put together a win streak before returning to the Staples Center, as it captured an impressive 102-88 victory over the New York Knicks as 3.5-point road underdogs Sunday, while going UNDER the posted total of 192. The Clippers have won three of their seven games on their current Grammy Awards Ceremony road trip, while going 32-64 in this situation since 2000.

Closing out a homestand

Philadelphia will try to close out its eight-game homestand with a 6-2 record, as it came away with an 87-76 triumph over the Charlotte Bobcats as 10-point home favorites last Saturday, while going UNDER the total for the sixth time in seven opportunities. The 76ers are 16-12 in front of their fans overall this season, which has resulted in a 15-13 against-the-spread (ATS) mark.

Be careful in laying the points

The Clippers are going to receive a good amount of action in the betting market due to the return of numerous key players last week, while they’ve also covered the spread in five of their seven opportunities as road favorites of 3.5 to 6 points this season. It’s still important to note that this squad is 0-5 ATS when laying points on the road when closing out a back-to-back situation.

First quarter will likely tell the story

NBA handicappers will definitely want to participate in live betting Monday night, considering the Clippers have tallied a league-best 27-2 record when leading after the first quarter, while the 76ers (12-2) are fourth in that category.

Philadelphia assumes the role as a live home underdog when you realize that it has outscored its opponents by a combined 175-141 margin in the opening 12 minutes in its last seven games.

Cautious approach

Chris Paul is coming off a 25-point performance against the Knicks, but this will be the first back-to-back situation that he’s been involved in since returning from a bruised kneecap injury last Friday. Los Angeles may take a cautious approach with the amount of minutes its All-Star point guard plays in this non-conference affair.

I’m expecting a big game out of Jrue Holiday as a result, as he leads Philadelphia in averaging 19.3 points and 8.8 assists on the season. He has recorded 13 double-doubles during the 2012-13 NBA campaign after having just one all of last year.

I’m going to recommend that readers back the 76ers as one of their NBA picks Monday night, as they’ve gone 20-9 ATS when playing at home with a total between 185 and 189.5 the last two-plus seasons.
