Saturday’s NBA betting sends Brad Stevens’ squad south in a back-to-back against the Miami Heat. It's time to review the best lines for our NBA picks.

The Boston Celtics moved to 3-0 ATS in their last week of action with Friday’s 91-89 win over the Orlando Magic, cashing as 5 ½-point road dogs.

Celtics play tight in Orlando

Boston was held to a 35.8 percent night of field shooting against the Magic, while erasing an early 12-point deficit. Celtics mates Brandon Bass and Avery Bradley united for 30 points and 15 boards, with Bradley adding three of his side’s 11 steals.

Boston’s Jared Sullinger and Courtney Lee put up double figures off the bench, sinking 10-of-12 free throws. Sullinger logged four assists and two blocks, while the matchup’s 180 points dipped UNDER the ‘total’ of 191 to cash for my followers.

The Celtics outscored Orlando in the paint, 48-42, while helped by a sizable 20 turnovers from Jameer Nelson and Co. Both squads struggled from three-point land, draining a meager 6-of-34 buckets.

Heat, Wade edge out Clippers

Miami notched its third straight win in Thursday’s 102-97 triumph against the Los Angeles Clippers, while falling short of collecting as a six-point home favorite. The Heat connected from the floor at a 53.5 percent clip, while being edged in rebounds, 38-30.

Heat guard Dwayne Wade piled in team-highs of 29 points and seven assists, while grabbing three steals in 34 minutes of action. Miami’s LeBron James and Chris Bosh put up a combined 30 points, with Bosh adding six rebounds and one block.

The battle’s 199 points ducked beneath the ‘total’ of 207, with Miami sinking a subpar 21-of-33 free throws. Heat mates Ray Allen and Chris Andersen came away with 22 bench points, while Allen was held to a 0-for-3 night beyond the arc.

Back the UNDER in Miami

Miami opened as a 14-point home favorite at Heritage Sports, while the ‘total’ was first set at 195. James (24.3 PPG) is listed as “probable” to play, despite some suffering from back spasms.

I am adding the UNDER here to Saturday’s sports picks, looking for a tight battle on both ends.

Miami has held foes to 95 PPG in its three home dates, with the UNDER going 2-0 in the most recent pair of duels. Heat guard Mario Chalmers ranks in the Eastern Conference’s top three for steals (2.5 SPG), while Boston has seen the UNDER cash at 4-0 in its four contests away from home.

The Celtics ran out of steam in Monday’s 95-88 defeat to the Memphis Grizzlies, dropping their season’s sole spot on no rest. Boston was held to 16 points in the fourth quarter and may have even less in the tank here after a hard-fought win against the Magic.

Boston has quietly had the league’s second stingiest defense, giving up 92.7 PPG and a tight 25.6 percent shooting mark from three-point land. The Celtics and Heat saw all four of last year’s matchups fly OVER the ‘total’ for our NBA picks. But Boston’s roster changes since then should switch up the octane – making for tighter affairs this year between these rivals.
