It's never easy to beat a talented basketball team three times in a row but the NBA odds are not too worried about that making the Boston Celtics a solid favorite vs. the Chicago Bulls.

Betting Odds
NBA odds have made the Celtics a -3 favorite. That is a very interesting number but for my selection I will take Boston minus the points in this spot. The Celtics are playing very good basketball right now and have the type of offense that can run away in a game like this.

Chicago Bulls
Chicago is averaging 98.8 points per game shooting 42.3% from the field, and allowing 98.3 points per game and 41.1% from the field. I am not sure how this team is going to end up this year as the possibilities seem to be endless. They do shoot the three well at 37.3% which ranks fourth in the NBA, and defend beyond the arc allowing 32.8% ranked sixth. For the most part on the defensive side statistically they have been solid ranking first in the NBA in two point and overall opponent field goal percentage. They have been getting killed on the glass though allowing 57.9 opponent rebounds per contest which ranks 30th in the NBA. It just seems they are still finding their identity as the season continues trying to change styles a bit from last year but with the same personnel of Derek Rose, Jimmy Butler, and Pau Gasol. This will be the first time this season they have faced Boston who can be very challenging to defend.

Boston Celtics
Boston Celtics are averaging 103.1 points per game while shooting 43.7% from the field, and allowing 97.8 points per game and 43.6% from the field. They are defending a lot better than they did last year and won their last four home games. Brad Stevens has been doing an excellent job on both ends of the floor and the team plays with some good chemistry. They average 24.6 assists per game which ranks fourth in the NBA, and the like the push tempo averaging 28.3 shot beyond the arc which ranks third in the league. This is a pretty deep team and everyone seems to know their roles so it'll be interesting to see just how far they can go this year with no real star power outside of Isaiah Thomas. Probably the best the statistic I like about them is a rank first in the NBA and opponents assist to turnover ratio.

Final Analysis
This a very interesting matchup and I'm a little bit surprised the Celtics are favored by three points. Chicago I'm sure would like to get out of their losing funk but I think they're going to find it difficult tonight against a team that moves the ball as well as Boston. This is the best team the Celtics have had in the last few years and I only look for them to get better. As for Chicago there just seems to be something missing from that squad, but the talent is definitely there and I think they can play with just about anybody in the league. For one of your NBA picks I recommend taking Boston minus the points and look for them to pull away in the fourth quarter and win this game by close to double digits, this is a playoff caliber team.
