We’ll be examining tonight’s NBA tilt between the Cavaliers/Clippers with the objective of finding the best value on the total. Read our insightful preview article on this contest in which we illustrate all the pertinent data, and includes our selection on the total as well.

Cavaliers Circus in Hollywood
The Los Angeles Clippers will entertain the Cleveland Cavaliers tonight at 10:35 PM ET. According to the NBA Odds  at Pinnacle, the Clippers are an 8.0 point favorite, and the posted total is 207.5.

Both Teams playing on the Low Side of the Total
The Cleveland Cavaliers are coming off a 109-102 road win versus the Lakers last night. The game did manage to go over the total of 207.0. However, that was the first in the last four, and the third time in the last thirteen games that Cleveland had gone over the total. The Cavaliers have been no strangers to low scoring games this season. They’ve seen 26 of 40 (65%) go under the number this season with a combined average off 200.1 points scored. Tonight will be their third game in the last four days, and they’ve gone under the total in 10 of 12 this season when playing in that exact situation, and those contests averaged a combined 194.8 points scored.

The Los Angeles Clippers have gone under the total in four of the last five, and eight of their last ten games. The Clippers have held the opposition to 97-points or less in six of the last ten games, and has seen their foes average just 95.6 points per outing during that time frame. This will be their first meeting of the season against the Cavaliers. The teams met twice a season ago, and both of those contests easily went under the total. As a matter of fact, those two games went under the number by a combined 46.5 points.

NBA Totals Betting Angle
The Clippers are an impressive +6.4 point per game differential this season. Cleveland has allowed 100-points or more in each of their previous five games. This sets up a solid betting system on the total which I will use in making one of my NBA Picks for Friday.

Any home team (Clippers) with a total of 200.0 more, that has a +6.0 or better point per game differential, and is facing an opponent (Cavaliers) that’s allowed 100-points or more in each of their previous four games, has seen the home team go under the total in 81 of those 124-occasions (65.3%) since 1996.

NBA Pick: Play on the Cavaliers and Clippers to go under the total of 207.5. at 5Dimes
