We stumbled during yesterday’s short slate of NBA Odds, but tonight with seven games on the slate, there are several games that look like they could be profitable.

Bucks vs. Wizards
Both the Bucks and the Wizards have looked shaky to start the season, and while the Bucks’ excuse may be harder to pin down, the Wizards’ problems stem from easy to fix rotation issues. Randy Wittman might not have a choice but to fix them tonight, because the NBA Odds have the Wizards as -4 ½ favorites tonight at home against Milwaukee, and if the Bucks can continue their momentum from beating the Cavs a few nights ago, Washington is in trouble.

Even though Jabari Parker will miss the game with a sprained foot, he hasn’t played a big role so far to start the season anyway. While it may hurt their offense some, the Bucks have enough on both ends of the floor to make up for Parker’s absence. Plus, with the Bucks winners of five of their last seven games SU, the Wizards are already going to have their hands full.

At 4-4 SU and 3-5 ATS, the Wizards are falling into my prediction that they are going to be overvalued to start the season. Washington is currently playing at the fastest pace in the league, but their defense is also giving up a horrible 109 points per game. This is due in part to Wittman’s wacky rotations. Last season in the playoffs, the Wizards had a lot of success playing Otto Porter at the four, while playing Paul Pierce alongside him at the three. While they can’t do that this year with Pierce in LA, they could start a guy like Jared Dudley. While that may hurt their defense some, the Wizards have an Offensive Efficiency rating of 110.3 with Dudley on the court and Porter at the four, compared to 96.8 when Dudley is resting.

Needless to say, unless Wittman figures out his small ball lineup, he is the only thing keeping his team from a win tonight. I see the Bucks covering and possibly winning SU.

NBA Pick: Bucks +4 ½ at Pinnacle

Hornets vs. Knicks
Charlotte has slowly started to look like a potential playoff team in the East, and while the Knicks do look better this season, even at home I doubt they can best the depth and balance of the Hornets. Charlotte has six players averaging double figures in scoring so far this season, and while the Knicks do have their full roster available to them, the Hornets’ defense might end up forcing everyone not named Carmelo Anthony to beat them tonight. The NBA odds have the Hornets as -1 road favorites in Madison Square Garden tonight, and I am laying the point with the road team.

Kemba Walker pretty much snaps every time he plays at MSG, and the Knicks will have no one to slow him down. Al Jefferson finally had a breakout game a few nights ago, and if he can continue his mini hot streak, the Knicks stand zero chance of getting a win here.

Charlotte has been tremendously undervalued to start the season at 6-3-1 ATS, and the Hornets have won their last four meetings in a row with the Knicks, and New York is only 1-6 ATS in their last seven meetings with the Hornets at MSG. Lay the point with the road team in this one for your NBA picks.
