Brooklyn looks to build off a successful December, which provides it betting value as a slight road favorite against Orlando at the Amway Center Friday.

Finding Middle Ground
Brooklyn is aiming to get back to a .500 record for the first time since Nov. 15, which is important to consider when looking over the NBA odds, as it closed last month on a 5-1 SUATS run.

Nets guard Jarrett Jack has been a difference maker in scoring in double figures in all six of his starts this season, as the team has won five of those affairs.

Regular point guard Deron Williams has come off the bench in four straight contests—knocking down just 25.9 percent of his shots over that period of time.

Over the last two-plus seasons, the squad is 7-5 SUATS as road favorites of three or fewer points, with the UNDER going 6-4-2 in those 12 opportunities.

Orlando has gone 84-84 SU at this venue since it opened in 2010-11, which can’t be ignored when making your NBA betting picks, but it has dropped 10 of 14 games in front of its fans this year.

The Magic are getting outscored by six points per game at this facility, with their bench providing just 31.3 percent of their points in comparison to 35.0 for their opponents.

It’s important to point out that the squad is 5-26 SU and 9-21-1 ATS in January since the start of the 2012-13 campaign.

Solid Numbers
The Nets completed the month of December with a 9-7 SU record, as they ranked third in the league in surrendering 96.2 points per game—made possible by holding foes to 44 percent shooting.

Brooklyn has been known to turn it on after celebrating New Year’s Day, as it has gone 21-7 SU and 17-10-1 ATS in January the last two-plus seasons.

Youthful Look
The Magic are the fourth-youngest team in the league, which explains why they’ve been out-rebounded in their last 10 contests.

Orlando’s goal in every game is to reach the 100-point mark offensively, as it has put together a 9-1 SU record when accomplishing that feat, but the starting lineup possesses just two players averaging double figures.

I’m going to recommend that readers back the Nets as one of their top ATS NBA picks, as they’ve gone 13-3 SU and 12-4 ATS versus teams with a losing record this season, while the Magic have failed to cover the number in four of their last five home games.
