Today we go to Chicago to see why we like the Timberwolves to shock the Bulls.  The NBA odds makers have come with Chicago the favorite at -6.5.  Minnesota though is rejuvenated with the addition of KG and despite their record they have played good basketball recently.  Read more to see why they are our plus money line play of the day.

Brutal stretch
It seems the T-Wolves are starting to put some things together while they have been getting healthy, and are currently posted at -6.5 favorites on the NBA odds. They had some serious setbacks to the season with key injuries, but we feel they are starting to get on the right track. Losing Muhammad will still definitely still have effects but overall they are not the walking wounded anymore.  Since January 31st the T-Wolves have played in order Cleveland, Dal, Mia, Mem, Det, Atl, Golden State, Phx, Hou, and Washington. That is an extremely tough stretch of games in which they went 5-5, and except for that first Cavs game they have been competitive in all the other losses. They are not playing like a doormat right now.

Better on the road
With the Bulls you know what you are going to get.  Whether they are at home or on the road in the NBA their stat sheet looks about the same. There is no clear cut home court advantage for them in this aspect, at home they shoot 44%, on the road 44%, from beyond the arc at home 35%, on the road 36%, rebounds at home 45 per game average, on the road 46 per game average.  Minnesota though actually plays better ball on the road.  Field goal and 3pt. percentage, and assists all go up when they travel.

Playing to the competition
Chicago is not immune to playing poorly against the lower half the league.  This year they have lost ten games to teams with losing records (Bos, Ind, Sac, Den, Brook, Mia, Utah, Orl, Lakers, and Char) and seven of those games were at home.  Minnesota comes in with some momentum and with the recent departure of Rose this is good set up for them.

Some statistics are tough to quantify
With Rose out and Garnett back this might be as simple as who has it more together.  It is tough to see Rose go down and I think Chicago will be in the playoff hunt when all is said and done.  Still, the value on this game goes to Minnesota in our opinion.  These teams have met only once earlier in the year with Rose out and Chicago escaped with a 106-105 victory.  The odds makers undoubtedly still have to make Chicago the favorite in this situation, at home, coming off a loss, and against the poor record of the T-Wolves.  But as they have played solid this past month and are overcoming their health issues we see that Minnesota has a very good chance to come in and pull the upset, which is why you should back them with your NBA picks .
