By the Numbers is a daily NBA column featuring three top selections according to historical trends and game time matchups. Let’s review the top picks for Wednesday evening and cash in our NBA picks.

Trailblazers (18-25 SU, 18-25 ATS) vs. Hornets (20-21 SU, 19-21-1 ATS)
  • Portland is 6-13 ATS in their last 19 road games.

  • Portland is 1-4 ATS in their last five games as an underdog of 0.5-4.5.

  • Portland is 6-14 ATS in their last 20 games as a road underdog.

  • Portland is 2-6 ATS in their last eight road games vs. a team with a winning home record.

  • Charlotte is 8-1 ATS in their last nine Wednesday games.

  • Charlotte is 5-2 ATS in their last seven games following an ATS loss.

  • Charlotte is 20-8 ATS in their last 28 games as a favorite of 0.5-4.5.

  • Charlotte is 5-1 ATS in their last six games as a home favorite of 0.5-4.5.

The last time these teams met in Charlotte the NBA odds makers installed the Hornets as 5 ½ point home favorites and those backing the home team in their NBA picks went away happy as Charlotte notched a convincing 106-94 decision back in November of 2015. The Hornets have lost their last five straight up but are poised to get back in the win column tonight and cover the number.

Knicks (18-24 SU, 24-18 ATS) vs. Celtics (26-15 SU, 23-16-2 ATS)
  • New York is 1-5 ATS in their last six games following an ATS win.

  • New York is 1-4 ATS in their last five when their opponent scores 100 points or more in their previous game.

  • Boston is 4-1 ATS in their last five games as a favorite.

  • Boston is 4-0 ATS in their last four games as a favorite of 5.0-10.5.

  • Boston is 5-1 ATS in their last six when their opponent scores 100 points or more in their previous game.

  • Boston is 9-1-2 ATS in their last 12 games playing on one day’s rest.

The Celtics have won and covered the spread in both contests against the Knicks this season and appear to be in good stead to do it again. New York’s Kristaps Porzingis is questionable for tonight after sitting out the last three games with an Achilles injury that has plagued him this season. Even if he does go he won’t be at one-hundred percent so this bodes well for the Green.

Thunder (25-18 SU, 23-19-1 ATS) vs. Warriors (35-6 SU, 18-22-1 ATS)
  • OKC is 6-1 ATS in their last seven games following a straight up loss.

  • OKC is 13-3-1 ATS in their last 17 after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game.

  • OKC is 5-1 ATS in their last six games following an ATS loss.

  • OKC is 18-8 ATS in their last 26 games as an underdog of 11.0 or greater.

  • OKC is 4-1 ATS in their last five games vs. a team with a winning percentage above .600.

  • OKC is 10-2 ATS in their last 12 games following a straight up loss of more than 10 points.

  • Golden State is 2-6 ATS in their last eight games as a favorite.

  • Golden State is 1-5 ATS in their last six games as a home favorite of 11.0 or greater.

  • Golden State is 1-6 ATS in their last seven games playing on one day’s rest.

Golden State’s straight up record looks great at 35-6 but when you consider the lofty numbers they are expected to cover then you know why their ATS record is subpar at 18-22. The Warriors hammered the Thunder in their last meeting to the tune of 122-96 but the numbers suggest this meeting will be different and the Thunder will be far more competitive.
