Each and every Sunday By the Numbers highlights two of our top NBA picks based on statistical trends, game time matchups and of course the value offered by the NBA odds.  Last Sunday we brought home a seven-point underdog, winning outright, when the Pacers defeated the Spurs. Let's go for a sweep this week!

Celtics (7-2 SU, 8-1 ATS) vs. Magic (6-3 SU, 5-4 ATS)

* Orlando is 2-5 ATS in their last seven Sunday games.

* Orlando is 2-6 ATS in their last eight games following a double-digit loss at home.

* Orlando is 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games vs. a team with a winning straight up record.

* Boston is 6-0 ATS in their last six road games vs. a team with a home winning percentage of greater than .600.

* Boston is 13-3 ATS in their last 16 games as a favorite.

* Boston is 4-0 ATS in their last four games as a road favorite of 0.5-4.5.

After dropping the first two games of the season, the Celtics have rebounded better than Dennis Rodman against a team of oompa loompas. Boston has now cruised to seven consecutive wins including Friday night's 101-94 win over the Thunder in Oklahoma City. The Celtics were tagged as 6 ½ point underdogs by the NBA odds makers in that affair but the Green kept rolling and must now face a vastly improved Magic team on their home court.

Boston is 5-2 ATS versus the Orlando Magic over their last seven meetings and the Shamrocks claimed a 117-87 victory the last time these clubs met in the home of Disney. The Magic were trounced 105-83 at home as seven-point favorites by the Bulls in their last outing on Friday night and will take on a rebuilt Celtics crew with a bona fide superstar in Kyrie Irving now on the roster. Let's back the better team at a tolerable number and bet Boston in our NBA picks.

Grizzlies (5-3 SU, 4-4 ATS) vs. Lakers (4-5 SU, 5-4 ATS)

* Los Angeles is 11-5 ATS in their last 16 games overall.

* Los Angeles is 4-1 ATS in their last five when their opponent allows 100 points or more in their previous game.

* Los Angeles is 7-3 ATS in their last 10 home games.

* Memphis is 1-4 ATS in their last five Sunday games.

* Memphis is 3-7 ATS in their last 10 after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game.

* Memphis is 1-4 ATS in their last five games playing on zero day's rest.

The Lakers are 3-1 straight up and against the spread (ATS) against the Grizzlies over their last four meetings in Los Angeles. As of this early Sunday morning writing there is no line on this game as the status of Memphis's Marc Gasol and Mike Conley is designated as probable, though not definite, and of much lesser importance LA's Andrew Bogut may still be sidelined with a back injury. But even assuming Gasol and Conely do make an appearance we like the way LA stacks up even better this season than in years' past when the Lakers had tremendous success against Memphis despite the fact the Grizzlies were the superior team. Let's wait for the line to come out and bet Los Angeles when it does.
