With so many injuries tonight, which side should be a better bet? The NBA Odds for this one favor the Knicks at -7 ½, with a total of 203 points.
As I mentioned yesterday in my power rankings update, the Knicks do have the ability to make the Eastern Conference finals and give Miami a run for their money. I said they have to do three things, play defense, make threes and be healthy. The first two seem to be going well right now for New York, however the latter is far from coming true.
While New York just got back Tyson Chandler, you can tell he is still feeling the affects of his bulging disk. Chandler has only played 24 minutes in each of his two games since he returned, and he had a minimal impact. Reports have said he is having trouble lifting his arms above his head, and for a big man, that is not good. I don’t expect him to have a very good game tonight against the Bucks.
New York is also still dealing with some other injuries to big men during this streak they are on. Amare is of course still out, (which is actually how I think the Knicks like it minus the front office who is still paying him every cent they owe him with no insurance) along with Kurt Thomas as well. On top of all that, Kenyon Martin, who has been playing well while Chandler has been out is also banged up a bit and is questionable tonight as well. Martin could also get the night off if New York is playing it safe.
Bucks shooting way to playoffs
Milwaukee is not a defensive stalwart in the NBA this season and they ill show it tonight on the road. However, if the shots are falling for them tonight, I really like their chances at covering this +7 ½ point spread.
First of all, Milwaukee is healthy, and with the Knicks nice run over the last few weeks, I think they have recently become overvalued. I never thought the Knicks would be undervalued, but they have been. However, I think the books have corrected this, and I see the Bucks making this game close tonight.
With all the injuries to the Knicks, especially to Chandler, the Bucks should have free run of the paint tonight. Their star guards will be no match for the Knicks’ backcourt, and even though I expect Carmelo Anthony to have around 500 points tonight, I think the Bucks can still cover this spread tonight.

The Sharp Pick
The Bucks are much better at cashing on the road than they are at home this season, and while the same thing could be said about the Knicks in New York, I still like the Bucks here. The Knicks have covered both meetings this season and the last four in a row, but before that, the Bucks had covered six in a row against New York.
The Bucks are actually 12-6 SU in their last 18 games against the Knicks and 6-3 SU in their last nine games against the Knicks from Madison Square Garden. Back a Bucks' cover with your NBA picks tonight, as I see them as a few too many for this game considering the circumstances. My NBA Picks: Bucks +7 ½
