NBA Picks: Bucks vs. Kings
The Kings are favored by -1 ½ tonight, with a total of 215 in the NBA Odds.
Bucks’ banged up big man
Last night the Bucks played right down the road last night in Oakland, where they pulled off a nice win despite being without one of their main pieces this season. Ersan Ilyasova missed the game last night due to a bone bruise in his left knee, and if he didn’t play yesterday that does not looks good for his status going into tonight’s game. Ilyasova has been on a nice streak since the All Star Break, as he has given the Bucks well over 15 points per game since last month.
If he doesn’t play, that gives some nice leverage to the Kings, who are of course only favored slightly tonight. The Bucks were able to win last night despite him missing, but the Warriors were without David Lee as well.
Kings playing tough
This team is a lot better than their record shows both SU and ATS. The Kings started out the season tough, but now that they have some sort of a rotation going, their offense is coming a lot easier, which is something we all predicted of this team going into the season.
Their defense, that’s another story, but we’ll get there in a minute. There are two very important things to think about when handicapping this game. First is pace. Milwaukee and Sacramento both are in the top ten in the NBA in pace this season. Milwaukee may have the fastest pace in the NBA, but they currently rank 3rd because of the Scott Skiles days. The Kings have also been steadily climbing, as they are ranked 9th in pace this season at almost 96 possessions per game.
Second is that both of these teams enlist three guard lineups a lot. That means the pace is quicker, more three pointers are shot, and the score goes higher and higher.
The Sharp Pick
With Ilyasova questionable tonight, I’m siding with the Kings ATS. I don’t think he will be able to turn around and play the next night after not playing last night, and without him, I like the Kings on the moneyline. The Kings are 15-7 SU in their last 22 games against the Bucks, and a night after the Bucks played in Oakland, I think that’s just enough.
On top of that, I like the over tonight as well for our NBA picks. I mentioned these two have some of the fastest game pace in the NBA. On top of that, the over has cashed between these two in four of the last six times they have played in Sacramento. With the Bucks tired from their road trip and potentially without their star forward tonight, I think Milwaukee will have no defense, and not enough to win or cover against the Kings in Sacramento.
My Picks: Kings -116 & OVER 215 at 5dimes
