Tonight, they get a bit of a break when they take on the NBA’s worst, the Charlotte Bobcats.
Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 pm ET at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.
The Nets are an outrageous 14.5 point NBA betting odds favorite and the total for the game is 196.5.
The Nets gave up a 16 point lead to Chicago. Is there any chance of a letdown against a Bobcats team that scored just 8 points in the 3rd quarter in a loss to Miami or is this an automatic win for Brooklyn?
D. Will in the House!
Every team needs a good point guard and Deron Williams has gotten into the groove for the last couple of months. We can safely say that he’s at least playing like a franchise player.
Despite the Nets losing on Thursday, Williams came up big with 30 points and 10 assists. In his last 3 games, Williams is averaging 25 points and 9.7 assists per game. He’s hitting his shots and the 3-ball consistently. Williams is getting hot at the right time and that could spell doom for the Bobcats.
A Rebounding Machine
Throughout the season, Reggie Evans has just gotten better and better; he’s been the difference in this basketball squad.
In his last 10 games, Evans is averaging 8.4 points and 17 rebounds per game. I keep making the Dennis Rodman reference, but Evans has proved that he can provide offense at times. If he stays effective offensively, the Nets can beat any team in this league, never mind the worst team.
The Bad News Bobcats
You would think that a team with Kemba Walker and Gerald Henderson on it would have more than 18 wins, but that’s not the case.
Walker has been the franchise player, but Gerald Henderson has been outstanding as of late. Fantasy leaguers rave about the numbers that he provides on a game to game basis at bargain prices.
In his last 10 games, Henderson is averaging 22.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game. Presently, he is the best player on the Bobcats. Charlotte’s season might be a disaster, but they’re starting to have a nucleus to build around.

The Emergence McRoberts
As a much needed big man to deal with the likes of Evans and Lopez, Josh McRoberts has proven that he’s a legitimate threat on the professional level. This former Duke University alum is averaging 9.3 points, 12.3 rebounds, and 3.6 assists in his last 3 games. Obviously, teams don’t like to lose, but Charlotte has some legitimate young players to build with. Can they keep up with the Nets is the question?
Head to Head Trends
Under is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings
Favorite is 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings
Bobcats are 0-4 ATS in the last 4 meetings
Brooklyn is really starting to play well, but 14.5 points are a lot to lay. Gerald Henderson will be a difficult matchup for the Nets on defense and even Josh McRoberts is coming to life. This may not be so automatic as it appears. The Nets should definitely win the ball game, but I’ll gladly take the 14.5 points.
