The Charlotte Bobcats (11-32) come into tonight’s game on a high, while the Bulls have had trouble against the weaker teams in the NBA. Can the Bobcats extend Chicago’s lack of luck against bottom feeders at the United Center on Monday?

Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00 pm ET tonight at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.

The NBA odds makers had first opened Chicago as an 11 point favorite, but that line was quickly bet up to its current position of -12. The total has held firm at the opening value of 186.

Lets examine this matchup to discover where bettors can find the greates edge when making their NBA picks.

Chicago forward, Luol Deng, has a hamstring injury and is listed as “day to day”. If Deng play’s the Bulls should be at least a 9 point favorite and possibly double digits, if he doesn’t play, Chicago should be at least a 7 point favorite. I’ve been fairly good guessing odds and we’ll go with that.

Chicago is coming off of a very uninspiring 86-73 loss to the Washington Wizards. The Wizards had been playing well, but this is a game that Chicago should win easily. Carlos Boozer didn’t help matters as he elbowed Emeka Okafor in the 3rd quarter and received a flagrant and technical foul. Joakim Noah led the way with 9 points, 17 rebounds, and 10 assists, but it wasn’t enough.

The Bobcats are coming off of a losing streak snapping 102-101 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves. It was their best shooting night of the season. If ever a time to visit the United Center, this would be it.

Lack of Maturity?

Anyone that watches NBA Basketball can tell that Carlos Boozer has all of the skills to be a consistent NBA All-Star. Poor judgment, like the elbow that he gave to Okafor on Saturday, has held him back from being a bonafide star.

Luol Deng is a major provider for Chicago, and Carlos Boozer will need to be more of a leader in his absence. Boozer has been playing well as of late and expect him to vindicate himself against a weak Charlotte team. If Deng doesn’t play, you must put this man on your fantasy league team for the night.

Just as he did against the Wizards, Joakim Noah is going to provide the intangibles in this game. He’s not a pure scorer, but he can do mostly everything else whether it’s rebounding, blocks, and steals. Noah has a massive wing span and this is a major advantage defending the boards. In his last 4 games, Noah is averaging 16 rebounds per game. Noah’s not going to give the Bulls 20 points, but look for the blue collar effort that he’s been giving to continue here.

Get Out the Hose!

The Bobcats are a team that usually rides the coat-tails of Kemba Walker, but lately Ramon Sessions has been alleviating some of the pressure from Walker.

In his last 2 games, Sessions is averaging 25 points 4.5 assists and 3 rebounds and has shot a sizzling 17 of 27 from the field.  This isn’t a fluke; Sessions have averaged 20 points and nearly 50% shooting in his last 5 games. If he continues to play like this, Charlotte will start to be more competitive, especially against a team like Chicago that lets its guard down against the weaker teams in the NBA.

If the Bobcats are anywhere near double digit dogs, I like them in this spot. Although we’re unaware of Luol Deng’s status, Chicago is coming off of a very poor performance against a weak team. The combination of Kemba Walker and Ramon Sessions could give them problems in this game, and therefore making them the best choice for our sports picks this evening.
