The last time Boston and the Los Angeles Clippers met for a basketball game they finished with a really high total and then added onto that with some overtime action. The NBA Odds have tonight's total between these teams pretty high but will we see a repeat performance of their last matchup?

The total for this game at 210 in the NBA Odds market. Although this actually seems a little bit low considering their last matchup for one of my NBA picks I will back under the total when these two meet in Los Angeles.

Boston Celtics
The Celtics average 105.8 points per game which ranks fifth in the NBA and defensively they allow just 32.6% from beyond the arc which ranks first. Currently on a four-game winning streak the Celtics do not look like they are going anywhere and should be in the thick of the hunt in the Eastern conference. They push more tempo than anyone in the league averaging 89.5 attempts per game and they make 39.4 of those which ranks fifth in the NBA. However, their overall shooting percentages are not that great as they rank 24th overall, 17th on their two point shooting percentage, and 26th from beyond the arc.

Although they do push this type of pace they have limited opponents to only 85 attempts per game which ranks in about the middle of the league. They also across the board rank as one of the better defensive teams in the league ranking fourth in both opponent overall shooting and effective field-goal percentage, sixth in opponent shooting efficiency, and eighth in opponent field goals made per game. Brad Stevens has this team clicking and catching the Clippers off the back to back is a good spot for them to limit Los Angeles to a reasonable number.

Los Angeles Clippers
Los Angeles averages 104.4 points per game which ranks seventh in the league and they rank fifth defensively in opponent overall shooting percentage. It'll be interesting to see what happens when this team gets Blake Griffin back in the lineup. After playing a strong six weeks of basketball they have cooled off recently and have been in a bit of a slump. However, they are still one of the more efficient teams in the league ranking eighth in shooting efficiency and fifth in effective field-goal percentage.

Probably the biggest issue against Los Angeles is simply the fact that they play in the Western Conference. Defensively I think they matchup with Boston decently well and they limit tempo similar to the Celtics allowing opponents just 84.2 field-goal attempts per game with opponents making just 37 of those which ranks sixth in the NBA. It'll be difficult with them coming off a back to back so I look for them to struggle little bit from the floor and focus on getting stops in order to hang with a very good Boston team.
