The Dallas Mavericks (34-33) visit Quicken Loans Arena to battle the Cleveland Cavaliers (47-19). The Cavaliers are favored by 9.5 points on the NBA odds board and the total is set at 208.

Dallas Mavericks
The Dallas Mavericks ended their five-game losing streak with last Monday's impressive 107-96 road win against the Hornets. Chandler Parsons finished with 24 points and nine rebounds, helping the Mavs snap the Hornets' season-high seven-game winning streak. Dirk Nowitzki had 23 points and 11 rebounds in the win, which kept Dallas in eight-place in the Western Conference standings.

The Mavericks score 102.4 points per game (14th in the league) and shoot 44.4 percent from the floor and 34.2 percent from three-point range and they pull down 43.0 rebounds per game. Dallas allows 102.8 points per game (14th in the NBA) and their opponents shoot 45.0 percent overall and 33.8 percent from beyond the arc and grab 46.4 rebounds per game.

Dirk Nowitzki leads the Mavericks with 18.3 points, Deron Williams averages 13.9 points and a team-best 5.6 assists and Chandler Parsons adds 13.8 points and 4.7 assists.

Cleveland Cavaliers
The Cleveland Cavaliers had won three straight games before last Monday's 94-85 road loss against the Jazz. Utah went on a 16-2 run midway through the fourth quarter, giving them an 86-73 lead from which Cleveland never recovered. LeBron James led the Cavaliers with 23 points and 12 rebounds and added 15 points. Despite the loss, the Cavs still have a 2.5-game lead over the Raptors in the Eastern Conference.

The Cavaliers average 103.6 points per game (ninth in the league) on 45.8 percent shooting overall (10th in the NBA) and 35.8 percent shooting from three-point range (eighth in the league) and they pull down 44.8 rebounds per game (eighth in the NBA). Defensively, Cleveland allows just 97.4 points per game (third in the league) and their opponents shoot 44.7 percent from the floor and 34.1 percent from beyond the arc and grab 40.8 rebounds per game.

LeBron James leads the team with 24.9 points, 6.5 assists and 1.4 steals, Kyrie Irving averages 19.6 points and 4.6 assists and Kevin Love adds 15.6 points and a team-best 9.9 rebounds.

Betting Trends
The Mavericks are 34-32-1 ATS, 15-17 ATS in away games, 4-4 ATS vs. Central Division opponents and 16-17 ATS as an underdog. The Cavaliers are 31-34-1 ATS, 16-17 ATS in home games, 25-33-1 ATS as favorite and 15-17 ATS as a home favorite.

Final Analysis
The Cavaliers are a 9.5-point favorite on the NBA odds board and the total has been set at 208. This will be the second game of the season between these two teams. The Cavaliers beat the Mavericks in Dallas, 110-107 in overtime on January 12 behind 27 points from LeBron James. Chandler Parsons led the Mavs with 25 points on 10-of-14 shooting.

Look for a similar type of game in Cleveland. The Mavericks have plenty of talented scorers who can help them keep up with the Cavs' pace and I like the way they played against a Hornets team that was on a roll. Dallas has figured out what to do to improve and they need this game more, so they will at least keep it close. I'm taking the Mavericks +9.5 on the road with one of my NBA picks.
