The Detroit Pistons (40-36) visit the United Center to face the Chicago Bulls (38-37). The Bulls are favored by 2.5 points on the NBA odds board and the total is set at 204.5.

Detroit Pistons
The Detroit Pistons have lost two of their last three games, including last night's 98-89 home setback against the Dallas Mavericks. Marcus Morris led the way for the Pistons with a season-high 29 points and Andre Drummond added 12 points and 17 rebounds.

The Pistons average 102.0 points per game (17th in the league) and shoot 44.0 percent from the floor and 34.0 percent from three-point range and they pull down 46.4 rebounds per game (third in the NBA). Detroit allows 101.3 points per game (12th in the league) and their opponents shoot 46.1 percent overall and 35.3 percent from beyond the arc and grab 42.6 rebounds per game.

Reggie Jackson leads the team with 18.4 points and 6.3 assists, Andre Drummond averages 16.6 points and team-bests with 14.9 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.4 blocks and Tobias Harris adds 16.3 points and 6.1 rebounds.

Chicago Bulls
Led by 28 points from Nikola Mirotic and 21 points from Jimmy Butler, the Bulls overcame some injuries and a nine-point fourth-quarter deficit to earn a crucial 103-100 road win against the Rockets last Thursday. Derrick Rose left the game after just 12 minutes because of a hyperextended left elbow and he might not play tonight. Chicago is now just one game behind Indiana for eighth place in the Eastern Conference.

The Bulls average 101.5 points per game on 43.9 percent shooting overall (25th in the league) and 37.0 percent from beyond the arc (third in the NBA) and they grab 46.7 rebounds per game (second in the league). Defensively, Chicago gives up 103.0 points per game and their opponents shoot 43.9 percent from the floor and 33.6 percent from three-point range and pull down 46.4 rebounds per game.

Jimmy Butler leads the Bulls with 21.0 points per game, Pau Gasol averages 16.5 points and team-bests with 11.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocks and Derrick Rose adds 16.5 points and a team-best 4.7 assists.

Betting Trends
The Pistons are 16-19 ATS, 15-22 ATS in road games, 12-15 ATS in the second half of the season and 13-16 ATS after a non-conference game.

The Bulls are 17-21 ATS in home games, 6-7 ATS vs. division opponents. 6-4 ATS after 3 or more consecutive unders and 17-20 ATS when playing against a team with a winning record.

Final Analysis
The Bulls are a 2.5-point favorite on the NBA odds board and the total has been set at 204.5. The Pistons lead the season series against the Bulls 2-1, but Chicago won the most recent contest 111-101 on January 18 in Detroit behind 31 points and 12 rebounds from Pau Gasol. Reggie Jackson scored 19 points and dished out six assists for the Pistons.

Derrick Rose is listed as doubtful for this game but even if he doesn't play the Bulls have a ton of talent and their last two wins proved that they're finally ready to turn things around. I like the Bulls -2.5 for one of my NBA picks in this must-win spot.
