The Warriors travel to the altitude of Salt Lake City for this matchup with the Jazz, the night following their 102-94 win vs. Washington. Are the Jazz a decent NBA pick since it has never been easy for teams to play at the altitude of SLC on consecutive nights?

Golden State Warriors (-4) at Utah Jazz 9:05 ET
But, I believe there is a special motivation for Golden St., which will allow them to overcome this disadvantage.

These teams have met 3 times this season with Golden St. emerging victorious on each occasion.  The last 2 of these meetings have resulted in Golden St. wins by margins of 21 and 13 points.  Looking further inside the numbers of this matchup, we find a telling difference.  Golden St. has knocked down 36 of 82 triples, while Utah has made 21 of 59 triples.  That is an average of (5) 3 pointers per game, worth 15 points!  Quite simply, the slow tempo, defensive style of Utah has not been successful against Golden St.

Utah Jazz
The Jazz have plenty of motivation for this victory, aside from that triple revenge motive (dominance?) against the defending champs.  Utah currently holds the No. 7 position in the Western Conference playoff queue.  But, they are just 1 game in the loss column from falling out of qualification entirely.  For that reason, I expect full motivation for Utah.  Favoring the Jazz is the fact they are 4-0 SU ATS on this court of late and 6-3 ATS as a home dog this season.  In addition, Utah is off a huge, momentum building victory on this court, in which they knocked down 17/32 triples in a (123-75) rout of the Lakers on Monday night.  This included a mind-blowing 1sthalf from Rodney Hood, who knocked down 8 out of 9 1st half triples in scoring 30 first half points.  But, there is a world of difference (or at least 20 PPG) between the Lakers and the Warriors.

Golden State Warriors
The Warriors enter on a 5-game winning streak, making their record 67-7 SU with a 5-game lead on San Antonio.  With 8 games remaining, the defending champs have all but locked up the best record in the NBA and No. 1 seed for the playoffs against the San Antonio team, whose object is to rest players rather than to gain victories.  Golden St. conversely, has clearly stated their intention that they wish to break the single-season record of 72 wins in the regular season.  With 5 of their 8 remaining games on an undefeated home court, where they are 36-0 SU, it means a road victory tonight at Utah would put them on the inside track to accomplish that goal.

I invite you to put the NBA odds in your favor and join me in my NBA picks on Golden St. on tonight's game
