Today for our NBA picks we will be backing the underdog Hornets. It looks like Charlotte is getting too many points at Cleveland considering how they have been playing lately.

For my NBA pick today, I will back Charlotte giving the points as they have been playing very good basketball recently. It is never easy to take on the Cavaliers in Cleveland, but I think Charlotte will keep this game closer than people anticipate and beat the NBA odds.

Charlotte is averaging 102 points per game while shooting 43.1% in the field, and allowing 100.7 points per game on 44.4% shooting from the field. They have come out of the break very well and have won five games in a row with three of those games being on the road. Tonight will not be easy considering the fact they beat the Cavs in their last matchup in Charlotte 106-97 and the Cavaliers should be looking for a little bit of payback. However, I like the way how Charlotte has been shooting the ball recently, especially from beyond the arc. On the season they are averaging 29.4 three point attempts and making 10.3 of those per game, both statistics ranking them third in the NBA. Defensively they have been decent and have held their last four opponents to about 95 points per game.

Cleveland is averaging 102.9 points per game while shooting 45.8% the field, and allowing 96.8 points per game on 44.2% shooting from the field. They had a letdown game against the Pistons after their win at Oklahoma City and simply did not play well. As they continue to find continuity in their new up-tempo style they're going to struggle I believe a bit on the defensive side. Sometimes when teams push pace they can overcome that with overwhelming offensive play, and so far Cleveland has done that. Tonight though this is simply too many points to give a Charlotte team that moves the ball very well and is playing good basketball right now, while climbing in the Eastern Conference standings.

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":2883306, "sportsbooksIds":[1096,93,19,92,238,169], "LineTypeId":1, "PeriodTypeId":1}[/]
NBA Picks: Hornets +8.5
Best Line Offered: at Bovada
