The opening NBA odds had this primetime Pacific Division battle at 234.5. With this high a total that would suggest Golden State would dictate the tempo because of their offensive prominence. The Warriors are third in the league in scoring at over 115 PPG, though the Los Angeles Lakers are not that far behind, ranked 9th, at a touch beyond 113 PPG.
At this point, we don’t need to rehash the principle players in the game because we all know who they are. What we have to keep in mind is that LeBron, Steph, Kevin and Draymond all relish the spotlight and they will do go all out to shine like stars.
If the Lakers expect to stay in this contest, they will have to keep the score down, because chances are they not going to hang with Golden State unless James has 50 for the Lakers. With the Lakers on a 19-7 UNDER roll, going to back the lower score.
Milwaukee at New York (Total – 228) 12:05 p.m. ET, on ESPN: The Bucks are 20-7 OVER after an ATS loss and the Knicks are 9-2 OVER after a spread setback, let’s go OVER.
Oklahoma City at Houston (Total – 220.5) 3:05 p.m. ET, on ABC: With no Chris Paul and these teams 6-1 UNDER is recent games, going to support the lower score.
Philadelphia at Boston (Total – 222.5) 5:35 p.m. ET, on ABC: The Sixers are 9-3 OVER on the road against winning home teams while Boston is 20-6 OVER after a win by 10 or more points.
Portland at Utah (Total – 214.5) 10:35 p.m. ET, on ESPN: Utah has played six straight UNDER’s and these two clubs are 6-2 UNDER in recent meetings.
On the Christmas props side, in looking over various sportsbooks, we found quite a bit of variance on odds on certain props. Instead of listing just one, we took the liberty of averaging them and you can see determine what odds work best for you.
NBA Player to Score the Most Points on Christmas Day (Dec. 25th)
- James Harden +180
- Giannis Antetokounmpo +190
- Stephen Curry +210
- LeBron James +220
- Russell Westbrook +250
- Kevin Durant or Kevin Durant +280
- Field +300
There is not a bad choice in the group. Picking a player from Golden State is not easy because they can all work against each other. Harden has been hot as Houston has played better, but this pick is on the Greek Freak. After putting up 30 points in a devastating performance in Boston on Friday, Antetokounmpo has a season-low nine points the next night in a loss to Miami. Look for Giannis to have a huge game against a Knicks defense that ranks 27th in points allowed.
Will Giannis Antetokounmpo Record at Least 12 Rebounds & 25 Points on Christmas Day
- Yes +120
- No -150
Based on what was just talked about, that is a resounding Yes.
Will Russell Westbrook Record a Triple Double (10+ Points, Rebounds & Assists) on Christmas Day vs. Houston
- Yes +130
- No -160
These are the kind of games Westbrook usually shines in. It sure seems like points and assists are a given, but firmly believe he comes up one or two short on rebounds. Backing No.
LeBron James vs. Stephen Curry: Who Will Record More Points on Christmas Day?
- James – Even
- Curry – Minus 130
James gets the call in always wanting the spotlight, especially against Golden State when he can steal it.
