The Brooklyn Nets have won six straight games and are 8-1 under interim coach P.J. Carlesimo, thanks to scoring a ton of points. With the ‘over’ also 12-7 in Toronto road games, go ‘over’.

Expect a rater high scoring affair on Tuesday night when the Toronto Raptors (14-23, 4-15 away) finally leave Canada after playing six straight home games to pay a visit to the Brooklyn Nets (22-15, 14-7 home) at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY at 7:35 ET.

The posted total at Bookmaker Sportsbook is 190½ for this contest with the current odds on the ‘over’ set at -110.

Perhaps a coaching change is all that the Nets needed as they are suddenly one of the hottest teams in the NBA. The Nets have now won six straight games following a 97-86 win over the Indiana Pacers on Sunday to pull to within two games of the division leading New York Knicks in the Atlantic Division.

Furthermore, the Nets are now 8-1 under interim coach P.J. Carlesimo since he took over for the fired Avery Johnson, fueling speculation that the Nets just might call of their coaching search and simply remove the ‘interim” from Carlesimo’s title.

Perhaps a bigger story is the way that the Nets are winning, as the offense has improved by leaps and bounds under Carlesimo after stagnating under Johnson. Brooklyn is averaging an impressive 107.2 points in the last six games while outscoring NBA heavyweights such as the Oklahoma City Thunder on the road along the way.

Also, scoring 97 points vs. Indiana on Sunday must have felt like topping 100 considering the Pacers lead the NBA in scoring defense allowing just 89.3 points per game. In fact, the Nets have scored at least 97 points in all eight of their wins under Carlesimo. Brooklyn is now up to 16th with a bullet in the NBA in scoring at 96.3 points per game after ranking in the 20s as recently as last week.

It helps that the Nets are getting a balanced attack as they has four players reach double-figures vs. the Pacers led by Deron Williams with 22 points and Joe Johnson with 20, and Brooklyn has four players averaging double-digits over the entire season with leading scorer center Brook Lopez (18.4 per game) joining Johnson (17.2), Williams (26.8) and forward Andray Blatche (11.2).

The Raptors just completed a six-game home stand where they went 3-3, but the last time they played on the road they lit up the scoreboard in a 123-88 blowout win in Orlando, which came on the heels of another ‘over’ at New Orleans two nights earlier. That brings the ‘over’ to 12-7 in all Toronto road games this season with an average combined total score of 197.7 points, which is about seven points higher than this posted total.

These teams faced each other in the first game in the history of this building as professional sports returned to Brooklyn for the first time since the Brooklyn Dodgers of Major League baseball left for the west coast in 1957, and the Nets won that game 107-100 in a high scoring affair. Look for yet another ‘over’ between these teams on Tuesday.
