The Bucks are on a 4-0 ‘under’ run while not exceeding 100 points in any of those games while the Magic are on a 5-1 ‘under’ run and have reached 100 points just twice in 11 contests.

Expect a lower scoring game than the total suggests on Wednesday night when the playoff-bound Milwaukee Bucks (37-40, 16-21 away) pay a visit to the woeful Orlando Magic (19-59, 11-27 home) at the Amway Center in Orlando, FL at 7:05 ET.

The posted total at Bookmaker Sportsbook is 201 for this contest with the current odds on the ‘under’ set at -110.

The Bucks seem destined to be the eight-seed in the Eastern Conference, which in all likelihood will mean an early playoff departure vs. the Miami Heat in the first round, as Milwaukee now trails the seventh seeded Boston Celtics by three games with five games remaining following a 94-83 defeat to those Heat on Tuesday.

It speaks to the weakness of the East that a team that is currently three games under .500 is assured a playoff spot, but it is what it is. What the loss to Miami last night does mean is that the Milwaukee bench may now start seeing more minutes with the Bucks seemingly locked into the eighth spot.

Now the Bucks play at the third fastest pace in the NBA grading out at 97.2 possessions per game, trailing only the Houston Rockets and the Denver Nuggets, but that has not translated into as many points as you would expect and Milwaukee is currently on a 4-0 ‘under’ run without going over 100 points in any of those games.

You see, the Bucks only rank 12th in the NBA in scoring at 98.8 points per game, and the reason is that despite their frantic pace, they are not a good shooting team, ranking just 25th in the league in field goal percentage at 43.7 percent. Their production also drops more that two full points on the road to 96.5 points per game with their shooting percentage dropping just a tad to 43.3 percent.

Moreover, Milwaukee’s fast pace has made playing back-to-back games tougher as it is averaging just 95.9 points this season when playing with no rest as it is here.

The Magic are just trying to avoid finishing with the worst record in the NBA as 13 losses in the last 14 games leaves Orlando at 19-59 and just one game ahead of the Charlotte Bobcats for that dubious distinction. The Magic have a depleted roster and are now playing a lot of youngsters, and the offense has suffered as a result, reaching 100 points only twice in the last 11 games.

Orlando is currently on a 5-1 ‘under’ run and that offense has not even gotten out of the 80s in any of the past three games. Believe it or not though, the Magic defense has actually gotten better since the team went to mostly a youth movement. Sure, Orlando is still 22nd in the NBA in points against at 100.8 per game, but in the five ‘unders’ in the last six games, the Magic held all five opponents below 100 points.

Look for both teams to continue their recent struggles to reach the century mark here, resulting in a rather safe ‘under’ on Wednesday.
