76ers are having a terrible season and the Warriors an excellent one, being a huge favorite on the NBA betting lines. What if anything might be able to change on Tuesday night in Oakland?

The Philadelphia 76ers Can Win Because…
There is always the possibility of an upset. Consider the point that the Warriors were strong favorites against the Los Angeles Lakers last week and got bombed in what was a generally lopsided game. The Warriors average 98.7 points allowed per game, but in that contest, their defense was shredded for 115 points. We’ve seen the Detroit Pistons, at 6-23, walk into Cleveland this past Sunday and beat the LeBron James Cavaliers by 23 points, in one of the biggest upsets of the season not just in terms of the team that won, but the margin. These same 76ers did something very improbable last week, coming back from a 23-point third-quarter deficit to win in Miami. The Heat are not a special team this season, but it’s still amazing for the Sixers to be able to overcome a deficit that large in that short a span of time. The long and grueling NBA schedule will toss in some head-scratching results every now and then, so Philadelphia certainly has a puncher’s chance in this one. The Warriors have also not been at their very best in recent weeks. They were 22-3 but now stand at 24-5, so they’ve been drifting a bit and have lost focus. If the Sixers can play their best game, they’ll be right there with the opportunity to steal this game in the fourth quarter.

The Golden State Warriors Can Win Because…
They are way better than Philadelphia. The Warriors have a positive point differential of 8.8 points per game. Philadelphia is the team with the worst point differential in the league, at minus-11.8 points. The Warriors score a lot, averaging 107.4 points per game. Philadelphia has what is by far the worst offense in the league, averaging only 90.8 points per game. No other team in the NBA averages anything less than 93.9 points per game (Orlando). Golden State is also 11-1 at home this season, while Philadelphia is only 4-11 on the road. The Sixers are also 3-7 in their last 10 games, so even though this represents progress compared to what Philadelphia did in the first month of the season, it’s still not very good. Golden State has all the tools needed to not only win this game, but win it comfortably, NBA odds list the Warriors as a -18 home favorite for this game at the moment of press. The Sixers would at least have a chance to win if they could shut down other teams on defense, allowing something like 98 points per game. However, the Sixers allow 102.6. Nothing lines up for them.

The Warriors and Sixers are in two different leagues. Golden State should have absolutely no problem disposing of the Sixers in this game. Take the Warriors with your NBA picks.
