Brooklyn takes on Milwaukee in the first of two meetings this week, all the while the race for the playoffs heats up. Can they mastermind the upset with home advantage in Monday’s highly anticipated NBA betting clash?

Currently sitting pretty in seventh place, level with sixth-placed Detroit Pistons on 39 wins and a win ahead of eighth-placed Miami Heat. It’s tighter than an accountant’s purse at the bottom of the Eastern Conference table, meaning the premium on winning couldn’t be any greater.

Taking on the high-flying Milwaukee Bucks is going to be a tall order for Brooklyn, but maybe – and this is just a slight maybe – they can take a modicum of optimism with home court advantage on their side. Well, hope springs eternal, so they say. They are 6-12-0 SU and 9-9-0 ATS with a -3.2 losing margin on average as home underdogs.

NBA Odds, Trends, and Stats don’t look promising for Nets

So far, the Nets faced the Bucks twice this season and both times they lost. The first meeting was in December where they lost 115-129 on the road. Second meeting came early in February where they lost 94-113 at home. Combined they’ve lost on average by a hefty 16.5 points (14 +19 = 33/2 = 16.5).

Monday’s clash marks the first of two dates scheduled this week for the pair (the next will be on Friday, April 6). It’s never a good week when the specter of the Bucks looms overhead in quick succession.

The Nets are 5-5 SU in their last ten games, coming off a 110-96 win over the Boston Celtics at home on Saturday. Beating Atlantic divisional rivals Celtics should be a nice boost for the Nets. Plus, they get the benefit of a couple of days rest to prepare while the Bucks are coming off a right cracker on Sunday against the Atlanta Hawks in which the Bucks were narrowly edged out in overtime.

Milwaukee, flush off a heart-breaking defeat on Sunday in Atlanta, will be looking to bounce back. A game that went the distance and saw plenty of twists and turns in overtime from Sterling Brown’s two-point driving layup with 0.01 seconds left on the board that lifted the Bucks to a 135-134 lead to Hawks responding behind Trae Young’s winning bucket to edge past the Bucks 136-135 at the buzzer.

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

ICE TRAE YOUNG FOR THE WIN.

__________________________ pic.twitter.com/uEmT5IVqfd
— FOX Sports: Hawks (@HawksOnFSSE) March 31, 2019
\n\n"}[/]

For NBA bettors there are a few important takeaways to consider. Mainly, the Bucks fielded a B-squad in Atlanta you might say. Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton are nursing minor issues and were out of the line-up, while Eric Bledsoe was a healthy scratch for the Bucks.

It remains to be seen what sort of line-up they field in Brooklyn on Monday night. Certainly, a B-squad would bolster Nets’ chances, if not to win outright at least to keep it much closer than their previous encounters this season.

The Bucks slip to a 7-3 SU record in their last ten games behind the recent setback. Nonetheless, they are still sat lotus atop the league with a 57-20 SU mark that includes a 25-14 SU record on the road. They are also second best in the league versus the spread on the road with a 22-15-2 ATS mark. The most alarming stat for those looking to bet on this game for their NBA picks – one that the Nets might not want to take stock off at all – is the fact that the Bucks are a staggering 16-3-0 ATS with a frightening 14.3 winning margin on average following a loss. Gives a whole new meaning to the popular hashtag, fear the dear.

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

It's raining THREES at Fiserv Forum!!#FearTheDeer pic.twitter.com/NXb1Peie4j
— Milwaukee Bucks (@Bucks) March 29, 2019
\n\n"}[/]

NBA Betting Verdict: The Bucks can’t take anything for granted as the loss in Atlanta showed. They’ll be playing for a second night in a row on the road, which can take its toll. However, what leaps off the stats page is the fact that they are a whopping 16-3-0 ATS with a frightening 14.3 winning margin on average following a loss. You could say this team simply doesn’t like to lose and you can bet they’ll be looking to bounce back at the expense of the Nets.
