Milwaukee Bucks look to sweep the Detroit Pistons tonight and if the NBA odds were any indication it should be a straightforward pick.

Importantly, they’re run of form underscores their stellar season that saw them sat lotus atop the NBA standings with a 60-22 SU mark and 47-31-4 ATS mark. As well, it quells any doubts about their ability to live up to expectations. There were those naysayers that had the Bucks’ inexperience at this stage of the season a cause for concern; pressure of expectation that could be their undoing. Didn’t they put paid on that notion thus far?

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

[CHERRY-PICKED STAT] 100 percent of 60-or-more-win teams that won an NBA 1st-round playoff game by 35+ pts., while scoring 100+ pts. & holding their opponent to 86 or fewer pts., went on to win the championship (1990-91 Bulls). The 60-win #Bucks beat the Pistons 121-86. In game one, the Bucks crushed the Pistons121-86 and covered handily the closing spread of -14.5. In game two the Bucks heaped more misery behind a 120-89 victory and, once again, covered handily the -15.5 closing spread. On Saturday, the Bucks continued this stellar show on the road with a 119-103 victory and, yet again, crushed the closing spread of -9.5 with units to spare.

Overall, the Bucks have not put a foot wrong and they’ve had strong play from top to bottom of the bench. It’s not just the Greek freak that is carrying this team, but everyone is doing their bit which is important in a long and sustained playoff campaign. They are the top seed in every sense and the team to beat right now in the Eastern Conference. The way things have been going it’s hard to see how the Pistons will avoid elimination tonight.

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

\"THE GREEK FREAK\"@Giannis_An34 x #NBAPlayoffs

🏀: (8) DET vs. (1) MIL, Game 1
⏰: 7pm/et 📺: @NBAonTNT pic.twitter.com/7mnTpq7Z8J
— NBA (@NBA) April 14, 2019
\n\n"}[/]

NBA oddsmakers have rolled out a hefty line for this game with the Bucks tipped at -12.5 to -13 depending on your choice sportsbook. Consider the Bucks have made a meal of every single spread NBA betting markets have rolled out in this best of seven series. It is quite likely they’ll crush this one tonight as well. Put an exclamation point (if you will) on this opening round of the playoffs.

Offensively, the Bucks have been on fire scoring an average of 120 points per game (third in the league) and conceding just 92.7 points per game. They are 1st with 53 rebounds per game; 2nd in assists as they dished out 29 per contest; 4th in scoring defense as they allow 96 points per game and 2nd in the league in field goal percentage as the team shoots 50 percent from the floor.

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

The Greek Freak does it again. On the bright side, it was the first game of the series in which the Pistons cracked 100 points on the board. Small blessings.

NBA Betting Verdict

If the Pistons are to avoid a series sweep they’ll need to shake things up in a big way. Problem is that it’s simply impossible to see how they would do it – throw the proverbial kitchen sink at the Bucks. Milwaukee has more depth and talent across the bench. Add to that the confidence and momentum they’re enjoying at the moment and it doesn’t seem as if they would let up no matter what the Pistons do.

NBA Pick: Bucks -12.5 (-109) - Pinnacle
