It will be an interesting night for our NBA picks on Wednesday as there are 11 games on the schedule. The Charlotte Bobcats will be looking to avoid a 16th straight home loss.

NBA Betting: Wednesday Picks

The Los Angeles Lakers will be trying to stop a six-game road losing streak and the Sacramento Kings return “home” for the first time after their owners agreed to sell the franchise to Seattle.

Here’s a look at the NBA odds and our picks for Wednesday:

Record: 26-20-3

Atlanta Hawks at Charlotte Bobcats

The Charlotte Bobcats have been nothing short of pathetic at home this season as they have lost 15 straight. For an NBA team, it’s simply unprecedented to be losing so much at home.

However, the Bobcats have started to come close, as their last two home losses have come by a total of 10 points. They even had a seven-point leading heading into the fourth quarter against the Houston Rockets on Monday night.

The Atlanta Hawks are nothing special as they have lost eight of their last 11 games. They’ve lost six straight on the road, which includes road losses at Washington and Detroit, so they are more than capable of losing outright here.

Take the Bobcats with the points for this free pick. They should be able to keep the outcome close with the injury-plagued Hawks.

Los Angeles Lakers at Memphis Grizzlies

The Los Angeles Lakers have been nothing short of an unmitigated disaster this season. Their latest ugly stat is a six-game road losing streak and they haven’t lost seven straight on the year since the last time they didn’t make the playoffs (only one time in last 20 years). They are just 1-10 on the road against teams above .500.

However, the Grizzlies are having all sorts of offensive woes and it doesn’t figure to get any easier after trading away Wayne Ellington and Mareese Speights. The Grizzlies are a weak three-point shooting team but should be even worst without their best three-point man, Ellington. Speights was also key off the bench.

After the Lakers last loss, they talked about slowing the game down and pounding it more in the post (at least that’s what Kobe Bryant suggested). When you combine that with the fact that the Grizzlies have scored 85 or fewer in six straight games, you’re probably looking at an under.

Phoenix Suns at Sacramento Kings

This figures to be one of the uglier games on the NBA schedule tonight but I like the Phoenix Suns in this spot. Starting with the trends, they’ve won four straight in this series and they seem to play well against the Kings.

There are a number of odd dynamics in this matchup as the Suns have a new coach in Lindsey Hunter. In most cases, I’d probably stay away but the Suns fired Alvin Gentry last Thursday and haven’t played since then. They’ve had almost an entire week to prepare for this game.

Meanwhile, the Kings are coming home for the first time after it was announced that the team was sold to Seattle. The fans aren’t going to be particularly pleased to watch “their” basketball team play knowing that it’s set to move.

Take the Suns for another of your NBA picks in this game, as they should be in the better mindset.
