The Golden State Warriors have seemingly lost their way…at least temporarily. After starting the year with eight wins in 11 games, they’ve now dropped three straight. Even so, they’re favored on the road in New Orleans on Tuesday night.

If you’re considering adding them to your NBA picks this evening, keep in mind that New Orleans is 0-3 both straight up and ATS against teams with a winning record. Case and point: they were hammered 112-93 by the San Antonio Spurs on Monday night.

This is not a team that does well stepping up against better competition. The Warriors have proven their among the best in the West, and they’ll handle a middling Pelicans squad on Monday.

The New Orleans Pelicans can win because…

Home-court advantage is a big deal in this contest. The Pelicans are just 1-5 on the road this season and were throttled in San Antonio on Monday night. However, at home, they are a healthy 5-2. They’ve won four straight at home and have averaged 114.7 points per game in those three wins.

People who make NBA picks have been puzzled by the Warriors lately as they’ve let them down with three straight losses. Normally, an offensive juggernaut, the Warriors have been held to just 92.3 points per game during this losing streak. They’ll have an even tougher time on Tuesday as they’ll be without center Andrew Bogut, who is suspended for one game.

Outlook & Pick

New Orleans isn’t a great bet on the spread as they’ve covered the NBA odds just four times in 13 games. Although Bogut is out and the Pelicans have home-court advantage, the sense here is that the competition is too strong for them. After getting annihilated on Monday night sportsbooks don't have much faith, look for the fatigued Pelicans to fall again on Tuesday.

Pick: Warriors -3

[gameodds]5/248199/?r-1=43-19-349/us[/gameodds]
