Will Miami and its high octane continue to collect for Heat and OVER backers, or can Chicago play another tight affair here? Get your NBA Picks inside.

The Miami Heat have reeled off five straight cashed tickets, with the OVER going 4-1 in that stretch. Erik Spoelstra’s squad finds itself in the second night of a back-to-back spot for Thursday’s matchup with the Chicago Bulls, who upset the Heat as 7 ½-point road dogs in January’s 96-89 victory.

Heat, James pull away in Atlanta

Miami’s latest victory came in comeback fashion with Wednesday’s 103-90 win as 5 ½-point road ‘chalk’ on the NBA odds boards against the Atlanta Hawks. The Heat trailed by as many as 11 points, outscoring Atlanta in the fourth quarter, 40-17.

Heat forward LeBron James piled in 24 points and 11 assists, logging his second straight double-double. James’ mates Chris Bosh and Dwayne Wade united for nine boards, with Bosh held to six points in a 2-for-10 night from the field.

The contest’s 193 points dipped below the ‘total’ of 196, despite the Heat draining 10-of-23 shots from three-point land. James and Wade combined for seven steals, while Joel Anthony recorded his side’s sole block off the bench.

Bulls, Deng hold off Hornets

Chicago returned to action after the NBA All-Star Break with Tuesday’s 96-87 victory over the New Orleans Hornets, cashing as a one-point road favorite. The Bulls shot 46.4 percent from the field, while outrebounding New Orleans, 47-39.

Bulls mates Carlos Boozer and Joakim Noah combined for 32 points and 27 boards, knocking down 14-of-27 shots from the floor. Chicago’s Luol Deng led his squad’s scoring with 20 points, while guard Kirk Hinrich logged 10 of his side’s 30 assists.

The duel’s combined 183 points jumped above the closing ‘total’of 181 ½, lifting the OVER to 6-3 in the Bulls’ last nine games. Chicago hit 13-of-17 free throws, while edging the Hornets in paint points, 44-40.

Back the Bulls and UNDER opened Miami as a 2 ½-point road favorite, while first listing the ‘total’ at 186 ½. Early NBA betting action on the Heat and UNDER moved the numbers to three and 186, respectively.

I am parlaying Chicago with the UNDER here, looking for a hard-fought battle between these rivals. The Bulls are 3-2 ATS in their last five meetings with Miami, while the UNDER is 4-1.

Chicago has held visitors to 83 PPG in its last six home dates that did not reach overtime, with the UNDER collecting at 4-2. The Bulls cashed in last month’s most recent spot as a home underdog, handing the Los Angeles Lakers a 95-83 defeat.

Miami’s scoring has been riding high, but the second night of a back-to-back spot has the makings of a slowdown here. The UNDER is 5-0 in Miami’s last five spots played with no rest, while going 5-1 in the team’s last six battles against foes with winning records.

Look for Miami to have its share of struggling here, while the Bulls squeak out a cover as the octane stays UNDER the ‘total.’
