There's a huge matchup tonight at the Toyota Center as CP3 and Blake Griffin visit the scoring machine known as James Harden and the Houston Rockets. Surprisingly, the Rockets are an underdog at home. Let's take a closer look and see if the Rockets are the proper betting pick to make in this matchup.

Tip-off is scheduled for 8:30 pm ET tonight at the Toyota Center in Houston Texas. According to SBR's live NBA odds, the Clippers are a 3 point betting favorite and the total for the game is listed at 198.5.

The obvious question would be why are the Houston Rockets, who have the much better record, underdogs in their own building?

The James Harden Show
We could see James Harden score in excess of 35 points tonight as Dwight Howard, Patrick Beverly, and Terrence Jones are all out for this game.

This is a major gift for the Clippers who have underachieved this season. Houston doesn't have a consistent source of  firepower on the offensive end other than James Harden.

Harden and the Rockets are coming off of a 102-89 victory over DeMarcus Cousins and the Sacramento Kings. In this game, Harden led the Rockets in points (26), rebounds (7) and assists (8). This guy is simply an unstoppable force on the offensive end. He can hit the outside shot or take the rock to the hole. I don't expect Paul or Griffin to be able to stop this one man wrecking crew.

Pleasant Surprise
Houston head coach, Kevin McHale, had to be thrilled with the performance that he got out of point guard Isaiah Canaan. Canaan stepped into the role of point guard against the Kings and was a major factor. Canaan also played tough defense as he had 24 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals.

If he can provide anything even close to these numbers, Houston will walk away with the "w" I'm just expecting Canaan to put up another solid performance and keep the Rockets in the game as players like Trevor Ariza attempt to get their stroke back. When playing well, Ariza can certainly be a factor, but as of now, his performances have been inconsistent.

Jamal Crawford.....For 3!
The Rockets face a Clippers team that is very formidable, but the Clips have been relying more heavily on Jamal Crawford than they did in the past. Crawford has really been the difference for the Clippers, who have won 4 out of their last 5 games.

In those 5 games, Crawford is averaging 18.4 points on 50% shooting from the field. Crawford can change the complexion of the game with back to back 3 pointers and that makes him very dangerous to the opponent.

While Blake Griffin (21.6 ppg, 7.4 rpg, 4.1 apg) and CP3 (18.9 ppg, 9.7 apg, 4 rpg) produce on a nightly basis and lead this team, J.J. Redick and DeAndre Jordan have had lackluster starts to the season offensively and Crawford has made up the difference as the Clippers are still one of the better teams in the league.

I don't know if James Harden can keep carrying the Rockets on his back, but the betting total appears to be somewhat low. There are a lot of offensive sources in this game and the Over is the appropriate bet when placing your NBA pick.
