The Golden State Warriors are starting to roll winning their last five games in a row. The Warriors are a strong road favorite on the NBA Odds board, but is there any value on the home dog?

Golden State Warriors

Golden State has won five games in a row and is averaging 117.4 points per game which rank first in the NBA. Offensively as most people would've anticipated they are certain to dominate the league and they rank first in shooting efficiency, effective field-goal percentage, and overall shooting percentage. Not only are they deadly from distance averaging 11.7 three-pointers made per game which ranks third in the league, but they're moving the ball extremely well averaging 30.7 assists which rank first in the NBA. Honestly, they might rattle off 20 or so wins in a row the way they look right now. However, on the other side of the ball, they are not playing that suffocating defense that they had going for them last year and they are allowing a ton of tempo with opponents getting up 89.8 field-goal attempts per game.  As well, across the board opponents are able to score off them with the Warriors ranking just 14th and 15th in opponent effective field-goal percentage and opponent shooting efficiency respectively. I believe this gives some opportunity to Boston to not only stay comfortably within the number but to possibly pull the upset.

 Boston Celtics

Boston is averaging 106.3 points per game and allowing 105.8 points per game winning three of their last four games. They're playing well enough right now I believe stay within the number and I don't really see either of these teams stopping each other tonight. Although the Celtics offensive numbers are not as sharp as Golden State they have been a little bit better defensively across the board. Currently, the Celtics are allowing opponents to shoot just 43.6% from the field which ranks them sixth in the NBA, but what should help them tonight will be the factor of allowing just 9.8 fast-break points per game which rank them third in the league. This will be a point of contention considering Golden State ranks first in the league offensively in that category. When they have the ball Boston should be able to score as they have some nice statistics across the board ranking in the top 10 in most percentage categories, and, like Golden State, they move the ball extremely well averaging 24.5 assists per game, which ranks third in the league.

NBA odds

Oddsmakers have come out making Boston a +7 underdog across the board which seems just about right. For my NBA pick, though I like them plus the points in this spot. They will not be intimidated by this extremely good Golden State team and last year they split with them winning one and losing the other by just five points. Take the Celtics.
