The Pistons may be one of the most undervalued teams in all of the NBA and tonight they are only -2 ½ NBA Odds favorites against a tired Wolves team that played last night in Canada. With the Wolves on their third game in four nights, pound the Pistons!

Pistons vs. Wolves

When Tom Thibodeau took the job with the Wolves, he probably thought this team was, at worst, a year away from being an annual playoff contender. He probably thought they were a lot further along on defense and that their hierarchy on offense was a little more defined before he got there.

All of this couldn’t be further from reality. Their defense has been lackluster and borderline bad so far this season. They also look like a team that doesn’t know who their first, second and third option on offense is. It seems pretty understandable. Karl-Anthony Towns should be the number one option, followed closely by Andrew Wiggins and then Zach LaVine.

Because of this, the team’s shortcomings have been a little more obvious. They let the Raptors (a very good team, obviously) drop 124 points on them last night and now they play the Pistons on the second half of a back to back.

Detroit seems to have things figured out this year. They know who their offense runs through now that Reggie Jackson is back, while their wing players all play together and let the better matchup and hotter shooter take command after Andre Drummond and Reggie Jackson.

They are also playing great defense. The Pistons are allowing only 102.2 points per 100 possessions this season, which is the best mark of any team. Considering they get the Wolves on no rest tonight, I see the Pistons’ depth and coaching advantages being too much for the Wolves off the back to back.
