With both teams coming off a back to back we're going to take a look at the Boston Celtics visiting the Pacers. Indiana is a slight favorite for this matchup on the NBA Odds. Can the Celtics pull an upset?

Boston Celtics

Boston is averaging 107.7 points per game which ranks seventh in the NBA but they have been giving up 112 points per game which ranks them close to last in points allowed. So what's going on with Boston? This was a team that was supposed to come in this year and be a serious contender for the East, but their season has got off to a rocky start. They have not been very good on the road this season and for the most part have been simply terrible on the defensive end. This can be problematic tonight against an Indiana team that likes to push tempo and get up a lot of shots. However, it is still extremely early in the season and I still believe in this Boston team and head coach Brad Stevens. Although they have been bad defensively, on the other side of the ball the been very efficient ranking third in both effective field-goal percentage and shooting efficiency, as well as shooting 48% from the field which ranks second in the league. Despite the scoring average they been actually decent in controlling tempo and I expect their percentages on that side of the ball to improve as the season continues. Tonight I like how they matchup with Indiana and believe they will win this game so I will grab the points.

 Indiana Pacers

Indiana is averaging 110 points per game which ranks third in the league but are allowing over 113 points which ranks them last in the NBA. With the way these two teams score most likely we will have an up-and-down affair. Indiana so far has been a mirror image of Boston in that they have been pushing the pace and scoring points but on the other side of the ball have been extremely bad. They're not quite as efficient offensively as Boston ranking seventh in the league in efficiency, however they have been shooting from beyond the arc at a nice 38.9% clip which ranks third in the league. This should be a point of contention tonight as Boston is not been good in defending the perimeter but I expect for them to get better in that aspect as the season continues. Defensively Indiana's arguably the worst team in the league as they rank last or second to last in most defensive percentages, don't expect them to get many stops against Boston tonight.
