With Jeremy Lin being out for Brooklyn, the NBA odds have the Minnesota Timberwolves as a slight road favorite. So who wins this game between the losing record teams?

Minnesota Timberwolves

Minnesota comes in averaging 101.6 points per game while allowing 100.4 points per game and rank in the bottom part of the league in field goals attempted per contest. Head coach Tom Thibodeau has yet to get this team rolling and they currently sit at 1-4 on the season with their only win at home versus Memphis on November 1st. However, I really believe they are better than Brooklyn across the board and believe they will take care of business tonight winning this game by over five points. Neither team is doing much on the defensive end, but Minnesota has been good in limiting tempo and extra passes allowing just 81.2 field-goal attempts per game ranking them eighth and allowing just 20 assists per games ranking them 11th. I'm actually a bit surprised that a team with just one win on the season is favored on the road, but I think oddsmakers have this right. Minnesota has a bit more talent and is a bit deeper which will help them in this contest.

 Brooklyn Nets

Brooklyn is averaging 103.3 points per game while allowing 107.3 points per game and has won two games on the season beating Indiana and Detroit at home. They have actually won more games already than most people have probably anticipated as they have been the underdog in every contest so far this year. Of course the key issue for them tonight is being without their starting point guard but statistically, across the board, they are pretty bad. They do like to try and get out in space and get up-tempo as they are averaging 34.2 shots attempted from distance per game which ranks them third in the league. However, Minnesota has been solid in limiting those types of attempts allowing just 22.4 per contest which ranks them seventh in the league which makes this a point of contention tonight. I simply have a hard time believing Brooklyn will be able to win this game when there is a pretty significant talent disparity. With Minnesota coming in hungry and desperately needing a win I expect a maximum effort from them, don't expect Brooklyn to get many stops tonight.

NBA odds

Oddsmakers have Minnesota as a -3.5 favorite across the board. For my NBA pick, I'm going to take the Timberwolves minus the points as I think they are overall better than Brooklyn and should come out with a solid win tonight.
