With the big win over the Warriors, the Lakers now have their sights set on the Suns. This should be a really fast paced game and odds makers have made Los Angeles a small home favorite in the NBA odds.

Phoenix Suns

Phoenix is averaging 105.3 points per game while allowing 112.3 points per game which ranks them 12th and 29th in the league respectively. Although the expectations are pretty low for this Phoenix team I like how they match up with the Lakers and they are coming into this contest on a two game winning streak. They had their struggles this season against teams that play tough defense or at a bit of a slower pace, but against the up-tempo teams they have had a lot more success which I expect them to have tonight.

Currently Phoenix is getting up just over 90 attempts per game which ranks second in the NBA and although they are being very efficient in their overall shooting percentages they do rank 12th averaging 39 field goals per contest. As well they been solid averaging 48.7 points in the paint per game ranking them sixth and averaging 58.3 total rebounds per game which ranks them third. This game has all the makings of going down to the wire so I like the points.

 Los Angeles Lakers

Los Angeles is averaging 108.8 points per game while allowing 108.5 points per game which ranks them eighth and 24th in the league respectively. They're coming off a huge win versus Golden State which may not benefit them very much coming into this contest as they might be a little bit overconfident. In that game versus the Warriors, Golden State was awful shooting just 15.6% from beyond the arc which will most likely be their lowest percentage this season. It was Golden State first game off a back to back which probably contributed to their poor shooting night. Still, hats off to the Lakers for getting the win as they try to get back to their winning tradition.

Statistically, although they've been decent on the offensive end, defensively they have been terrible allowing opponents to shoot 47% from the field which ranks 27th in the league, as well as allowing opponents 56.4% on their two point shooting. In the paint could be an issue tonight as Phoenix likes to attack the rack and currently the Lakers rank dead last in the league in opponent points in the paint per game.

 NBA odds

Oddsmakers currently have Phoenix is a +3 underdogs across the NBA Odds board. Although Los Angeles is coming off their biggest win of the year, with the way this game sets up it looks like it could go down to the wire or Phoenix could very well win so for my NBA pick I will grab the points.
