The temperatures around the country may be freezing, our handicappers are hoping to catch fire with their NBA picks on Monday night.

Only three games are on the schedule tonight. The 76ers will host Kevin Love and the Timberwolves as home underdogs, while the Nets (-2.5 vs. Atlanta) and Clippers (-9.5 vs. Orlando) will both be favored on their own courts.

Where do our handicappers believe the best value lies with their sports picks? Find out below.

Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Philadelphia 76ers

Covered by Matthew Jordan

In the meeting between these teams last month, the Timberwolves won 106-99 but couldn't cover as massive 12.5-point favorites.

This time around, Minnesota is favored by seven points on the road, with the total at a sky high number of 219. The Timberwolves are 16-17 SU and 18-15 ATS overall, while the 76ers are 12-21 SU and 15-18 ATS for the year.

Minnesota is coming off a gut-wrenching home loss to Oklahoma City, while Philadelphia has actually reeled off four straight wins, all of which came on the road. The trip was finished off with a bang, as the 76ers beat Portland 101-99 two nights ago.

As for tonight's pick, Matthew has opted to back this surging Philadelphia team, who are very obviously much more competitive with Michael Carter-Williams on the floor. MCW missed the first matchup with Minnesota, so maybe his presence will lead the 76ers to a fifth straight victory for our NBA picks.

NBA Pick: 76ers +7

Atlanta Hawks vs. Brooklyn Nets

Covered by Jeff Grant

Are the Nets starting to figure it out? They've won two in a row, first going into Oklahoma City and beating Kevin Durant and company 95-93, before coming home to top Cleveland 89-82 on Saturday evening.

As for the Hawks, they've lost two in a row and three of their past four. They'll be hoping to improve their 6-11 SU (8-9 ATS) road mark, though the NBA odds see Brooklyn favored by either 2 or 2.5 points depending on the sportsbook.

Though the Nets are showing signs of life, it's hard to get too excited about a team that's still seven games under .500.

Perhaps that's why Jeff is steering clear of a spread pick and is taking a shot on the OVER (197) instead. Brooklyn has been experimenting with a smaller lineup that's shown to be more effective on both ends of the court, while Atlanta has dropped off defensively lately, surrendering 101.6 PPG over their past five.

NBA Pick: OVER 197

Orlando Magic vs. Los Angeles Clippers

Covered by Jeff Grant

The Clippers came crashing back down to earth following their big road win over Dallas. They were creamed by the Spurs in a 92-116 loss two nights ago, as they didn't even come close to sniffing an ATS cover as 10-point dogs.

Nonetheless, Los Angeles still finds themselves favored by 9.5 points here at home against an Orlando team that's lost three consecutive games. Though the Magic are 3-12 SU on the road, they've mustered up a profitable 9-6 ATS mark in those 15 contests.

The Clippers have been excellent inside Staples Center (14-3 SU, 9-8 ATS), but that was with Chris Paul running the show. Darren Collison is more than a capable NBA starter, but he's no CP3.

After breaking down the NBA odds, Jeff believes the value is with Orlando here. He liked Los Angeles as five-point favorites or less, but not at this kind of number, so he'll be taking the Magic to cover on the road.

NBA Pick: Magic +9.5
